SDR, I have a chair I took apart to take off the black spray paint covering half of it. The arms remind me of old school desks or something. They have a rock hard laminate finish on top thats made of some plastic wood tone looking stuff (like a table top) but the body of the arms are made of a very ...

I like it

Power, This sounds great. Gotta love it when politicians actually go against the big moronic control freaks. I like the idea of a rail corridor there. I have seen idea for tunnels with a big ugly freeway. How bout making the Free ways into Toll ways? If gas goes to 7 bucks a gallon like the rest of ...

Carports

are simply cooler than garages. At least here in So Cal. Of course I enjoy having a storage building taking up considerable square footage here in front of the house. Hows about a slick shed roofed carport in front of a garage. Anyone have a pic of that? Or a carport next to a garage like the Eichle...

Are the units free standing? If so, is each unit freely standing from the next?
I shall have to take a walk around there again in the daylight this time to check it out.

carport vs. garage

The carport converted into a garage job that's in the photos is well done no doubt. But I feel that for Sunny Southern California my bet is on the carport. Just looks more natural. An open to the elements shed. I remember working for an old beatnik futurist on an island in the virgin islands who bui...

speaking of mica on the ceiling

Does anyone have a walkway that sparkles in the moonlight? I remember as a child that my favorite sidewalks in NYC were the ones with the sparkles. Seems easy enough to do. Just broadcast it over the surface as the final step. I think medium-fine grade would do nicely someday on my driveway. Imagine...

Wow, the ultimate sound deadening panel in 4ft by 8ft sheets. Works well in its intended use anyway. Think I remember that work in NYC. Crazy New Yorkers. Los Angeles Times Real Estate Archive site?

Greetings,
Remember the LAPL site with all the Times RE section articles from the 1950s?
I cant find it. Will do a Lotta Livin search for it and if I get to it again I will post the link here.
On the other hand if anyone has the link handy, could they post here?

Thank you very much.
