srk1941,

Beautiful photographs! Really, really lovely. You captured so many details I missed in my photos. The slide show was a delight!

The booklet says, "After May's death in 1989, the property was sold."
So I imagine around 1990 or so.

Too bad.

Did anyone notice 1740 Old Ranch Road? It was not noted as a Cliff May but it had CM details. I loved all the glass. My picts don't do it justice. Did anyone else get better picts? http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b183/blenderama67/Cliff_May_Tour/March07089.jpg I hope you guys enjoyed the pictures....

The Experimental House is being renovated (fingers crossed) by Marmol Radziner. Most of you know who these guys are if you read Dwell. They are doing a lot of interesting things. They are doing pre-fab out in the desert by Palm Springs. I think the fact that the roof is still telescoping is a good s...

Egads! We were in a red Sienna and we both had cameras. So you spotted us. Well done. O.K. here's a link to my pictures. DH has not taken his off the camera yet. secret dress code

You know, we should have planned a secret dress code to indicate if you were a member of Lotta Living. Kind of like the gang scarf thing. Of course, after the lecture I could have stood on a chair and yelled, "Hey! I'm Blenderama!" I might have been quickly escorted out had I done that. :h...

Cliff May Walking Tour

I just ordered a couple new batteries for my digital camera, so I will take lots of picts of the four homes that are on the walking tour.

Any special request photos of these Cliff May homes?

We'll be at the lecture as well.

Let me know.

Window Frame - what color?

On Monday, I have two, 400 lb. sheets of double-paned glass arriving. I need to decide what color to paint these frames. They are primed right now. See picts below. Oh, I think I know the answer (same color as body) because I combed through this post. http://www.lottaliving.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=61...

Structural Engineer

I'm in Northern California, so I don't know if our structural engineer would work. However, we found our structural engineer by going to the building department of the city and getting a structural engineer recommendation. This way, it would also help with passing inspection if we used the city's re...

Thank you for all your responses. Joe - No Orange Peel here, rest assured. The ridge skylights are custom from Bristolite Skylights. Interior Texture

Hello, I am looking for suggestions on texturing new sheetrock walls. It's difficult to find good examples. We are doing an early Cliff May inspired addition. The job consists of adding 1200ft^2 to an existing '50's tract ranch. Included are photos of project in question. Our contractor is suggestin...

Mod Diva,

That installation is wonderful. I think I need to see that movie...
Do you have uplights underneath? I feel like
it would really come to life with some special lighting.

Happy New Year! We are about to embark on adding 1500 sq ft onto our house. Cliff May is our inspiration. In the living room, there is a large wall that we are trying to decide what will be on it. Here is a pict of a little model we built to help you picture the space. The model is not finished, but...
