Just came from the open house, quite amazing. One could nit pick about a couple of things, e.g. the air conditioner on the roof, awful garage door, but all in all this is quite something. The current owner has a pretty wonderful furniture collection to go with the house. The agent said he's moving t...

What a great solution. Maybe I was on to something with the tarps. In my part of LA it hits 100 quite a bit during the summer, and can get quite cold (in relative terms). Will look into it. Thanks.

Skylight Covers

Any suggestions on skylight covers. The previous owners raised the original flat roof on my house, put it at an angle and added two large skylights, making the room unbearably hot in the summer. I've been throwing tarps over them for the past couple of years, but would really like to get something t...

Thanks for the tip on Affordable Sliding Door Repair. One of my dogs slid into my huge wood door, knocking it off the rails. Bruce Conger came on Sat morning and fixed it, very quickly of course, and then caulked the glass, sprayed the rails, it's a wonderful thing.

I highly recommend this guy.

Original Photos of the House

The son of the original owner of my house has sent me photos taken from 1954 - 1967. Lew Keller, Sr. was an animator/director for Jay Ward productions. (Turns out there were a lot of animators up here.) Lew, his wife Gail (they met while students at Chouinard) and Llew, Jr., moved into the house on ...

I recently conducted some research in the Shulman collection for an exhibit at the Bolton Hall Museum in Tujunga. The Getty staff, especially Anne Blecksmith, was incredibly helpful and supportive. As a result of this research we were able to include Shulman photos of Neutra's Serulnic House, Eugene...
