It's the Trienniale lamp. Designed by Gino Sarfatti for Arteluce, c. 1950. If I'm recalling correctly, it's being reproduced now. Thought I saw an ad in Modernism mag for the new version.

Very cool house design, and it looks like a good compromise between partners. Are you sure you can't find a good owner for the older MCM house you were thinking of buying? An interesting footnote on flat roofs and snow. When I bought my 1955 steel and brick house with its flat roof, the purchase was...

Check out the extruded aluminum ceiling track by FanPleat. It's only 1/4" high, and 3/4" deep, about as minimal as drapery rods/tracks can get. It was designed to work with FanPleat's own draperies, which stack back to 28" for a 16' wide window. That is especially good where there are...

Re: Sprint Blgd

Regarding bldg #10 in the original post: the Sprint Building. I believe it was originally called the Centel Building as Centel was the name of the local phone company in Las Vegas before being swallowed up by Sprint. I could be totally wrong here, but I think I took a field trip to the Centel Build...

Over the last few years, I've picked up a number of old issues of Architectural Digest, which was quite Cali-centric in its early days. Looter, a lot of replacement glass companies can custom make the thermopane inserts to whatever size and shape you want. They cut the glass, send it out to be tempered, and then assemble the thermopane unit themselves. It looks as though the frames of your casements might be deep enough to fit therm...
