Re: Bathroom Vanities etc

Wow, old thread. Here's a our bathroom in a 1961 mid-mod. We simply replaced bath cabinet doors and draw fronts. Had a cabinet maker construct and in stall, although I got stuck the the shellacking duties... http://0044f49.netsolhost.com/nashvillemodern/605/bath_full1_lg.jpg http://0044f49.netsolhos...

Re: How to furnish a house?

Hi there,

Just look at some vintage photos, then look at what is available now. That's what we did, and lucked out pretty good on fixtures and furnishings...

Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Cheers!

Ellwood 'Hunt House' Threatened...

Frightening story over at the Esoteric Survey website. Craig Ellwood's beach front 'Hunt House', which is in prestine original condition btw, is being pegged for demolition so they can built a 5000+ sqft single family monster house... http://esotericsurvey.blogspot.com/2015/05/ellwood-hunt-house-thr...

ch: I was going to say...too bad about the white-out, but I didn't. All those tongue and groove ceilings (and the beams, for that matter) must have been stained or some striking color. Oh well. That said, it's a cool place... :)

Scott NC,

Your place is awesome! It's about twice the size of ours, and certainly decorated more period. My wife and I look for things with the right lines and form, so our place is decorated appropriately for its style, but not true vintage.

Enjoyed the pics...keep up the great work!

Hey there, Sorry to hear you've had trouble. We put our stone perimeter down in 2006 and it's held up perfectly to present. I first excavated the area down about 4", then physically removed grass, weeds and roots, then sprayed a ground clear product, then applied the landscape fabric (not plast...

Hey all! Long time no post. Last year, I had a pergola built over our patio. Designed it in SketchUp, got my carpenter friend to build. Too bad about the white-out. Some of the woodwork left unpainted would have really popped against the white walls. I do like the structure bit over the back hang space.

That place must have been amazing when first built. Kind of obscured by trees now. Hard to tell if the carport and lower deck space are still there.

Hi tripitaka: I'd be kinda surprised if the Scott family would allow renters to alter much of anything beyond painting a wall here and there (not the brick, of course), or maybe putting in new carpeting (the carpet in that photo looks a little tired). This house is such a time machine, it would be a...
