As others have said keep searching Craigslist in your area. We recently bought the V-handle Philco below for $75. I work as an engineer in refrigeration so this has become my summer project and will hopefully keep my beer cold soon. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4007/4645970095_219b30a2c4_m.jpg I s...

I'm glad this topic came up (well you know what I mean, a search for a solution). We've been struggling with this for a while. This past winter we had what must have been our most persistant kamikaze, a robin. For several days he bashed himself against our windows. Eventually I hung dark plastic, li...

Gunning House - Glenbrow - Columbus, Ohio

I grew up in Columbus and just found this on the Landmarks Foundation site. Many of you may have heard of Theodore Van Fossen and his work on Rush Creek in Columbus. Well this wonderful home was a predecessor to that area and is now in danger. http://www.columbuslandmarks.org/preservation/gunning.php

Thanks Slim and Gabby. We love looking at your pics, it's like a Where's Waldo of MCM "Ooh they have one of those" "Wow what's that! We need one!"

Jesgord What a view! Are those Kerf cabinets? How do you like them?

Nice fireplace and level change there, MCMLII - what's happening to the left of the fire? Looks like a door over something. The conversation pit recesses about a foot. The fireplace is about 2 feet off that level with 2 sliding wood doors revealing 2 "cubby holes" for wood on one side and...

Unfortunately everything I know so far is the information on the link. I know of some houses that I suspect may be on the tour but that would just be a guess at this point. If I find out more I will definitely post it.

We went to the open house also. That house belongs to one of the architects of Axis Architecture. We've been wanting to see the inside of that one for years. Really liked the living space and loved the built-in in the dining area.

Dr. Goldfoot's on it. Meridian specializes in the stuff. Every now and then you might run across some good stuff in some of the used furniture and thrift stores around town. But those finds are getting fewer and farther between. Some of my favorite and best finds though have been garage/yard sales i...

At the top of the steps in the pic below you can see the divider separating our entry from the hall. It's very similar to what Modfan described.

No you're not being nosy at all. That is a pencil rendering of the house done by the architect. That's not it's final resting spot, but we found it in a closet and just got it framed and had to hang it up so we could enjoy it. The architect's name is John Pecsok. His work included public and residen...

Yep, the house was built in 1952, and we bought it from the original owner. We have also had the pleasure to talk with the architect and his wife over the phone who were good friends of the original owners. We've made plans to meet in person, but the timing just hasn't worked out yet. We searched fo...
