Thanks for everyones suggestions and encouragement. I greatly appreciate it. They vinyl on the house is red. So anything red in the pictures is the vinyl siding. It doesn't look horrible from the street, but I am just not a fan of it. The front of the house has the least amount of siding on it. Our ...

Landscaping/Exterior help and opinions needed

We have finally decided to tackle the exterior after two years on the interior. We are definetely on an extremely tight budget, but I would like to make some small improvements. We currently have some vinyl siding on our home, that is the red that you see in the pictures. I am not sure I want to tac...

Last year we had pretty heavy snow fall in Colorado and faced the same question. We ended up using a rake just to get some of the snow off of the roof. That way when the sun did come out it didn't have 12 inches of snow to try and melt. It was really more for peace of mind, but that much snow on a f...

The skylight company and the roofing company both came out yesterday. The both scratched their heads a lot and tried to figure out a solution for me. They were here in the middle of the day, so the moisture was at it's high point. Essentially, our house is very much like a green house and we have to...

The skylight company is on their way out to our house now to take a look. I have fans going, trying to get as much ventilation and I came home at noon and there it is dripping again. Beyond frustrating.

Our duct work is all underslab. What are your thoughts there?

Thank for the suggestions. I am having the installer of the skylight come and take a look at it this weekend. At this point I am ready to call anyone to come and take a look at it. Jesgord - I had been thinking of a dehumidifier, and also not sure about the effectiveness. I actaully might check this...

We did recently have the furnace serviced, but I will have the flue checked to make sure that isn't the problem. We don't having moisture anywhere else. I kind of freaked out when the skylight started dripping last week and we went through the rest of the house to make sure it wasn't the roof. Color...

Skylight Help

We have a 1959 mid century modern home in the suburbs of Denver, CO that we have been in for just over a year. Our house has a fantastic skylight the runs the entire length of the house. In the past week we have been having major condensation issues within our skylight. So, bad that it will start le...

We have been dealing with the exact same issue. Living in Colorado I feel that a garage is a bit of a necessity. Our biggest problem is that we would have to reconfigure our front door if we enclosed the carport. In our consideration, we faced the same problem with a roll up door and not having enou...

We have only been in our home since January, so I am not sure what all the long term concerns are of people living in Colorado with flat roofs. This last winter was bad for us, but fortunately it isn't like that every year. We had about 6-8 inches of snow on our roof consitently for quite sometime. ...

Britt - Well we put the contract on our home before the one next door was on the market yet. Our agent took us through the one for sale when it came on the market. The price difference was of course a huge bonus for us. A big reason for the difference was that we had to endure a short sale process. ...

Rob - The housing market hasn't really cooled too much. We paid $210 for our house and it has just over 1900 sq ft and is the exact same floorplan as the house for sale. We also had to deal with a short sale which was a major hassle to go through, but helped get the price down. It just varies so muc...

One of the best resources in Denver is Mile Hi Modern (http://www.milehimodern.com). I have only heard great things about Craig Mayer. There is a great driving tour on his website. The neighborhood with Cliff May homes is Harvey Park. Other MCM neighborhood would be Araphahoe Acres, Krisana Park, Ly...
