I'm glad to read up on the current news of the Parasol. Though I live on the opposite side of the nation I've become interested in this eatery when this thread was first posted. Glad to see someone else was able to utilize this beautiful structure. I'm relieved that the new owner didn't put that ugl...

 Oops! Sorry, I forgot to post the link. I got sidetracked when posting this. It was posted on Uncle Jack's Very Vintage Vegas: http://veryvintagevegas.com/ . I read the article via RSS feed so I'm not sure which section on his web site he has it filed away in. It's in there somewhere though l...

Guardian Angel Cathedral - Las Vegas, NV

http://veryvintagevegas.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/guardian-20angel-20cathedral-thumb.jpg I just found an article today written on another Vegas site/blog that talks about the Guardian Angel Cathedral being offered a nice chunk of money for their land. Not sure if anyone else was informed about...

I was curious to know if there were any special features architecturally on the inside that once existed or still exists? Or has the inside been gutted beyond recognition over the years? The highest section of the building off to the right side; is that a loft area or does the ceiling just open up t...

Basically what he is saying is that he knows nothing about MCM, so because he knows nothing about what he is writing about and based on the impact of the rapid changes on the Strip that his conclusion is the be...

Mark - I love the rendering you've done of the Maude Hall. Very nice! I agree on your outtake of the landscaping and like how you have the palms and the smaller plants arranged as it is nice and subtle and it keeps the build the main focus. I like the study addition. It works nicely and doesn't take...

I agree Futura Girl... maybe that's why I vaguely remember seeing the Maude Frazier Building, because of the obstructive landscaping. In the areal shot posted in this thread I most definitely recognize the building to the bottom right that is separate from the Maude Building. I've walked around it. ...

My historic Vegas trip: Jul 15th-28th

Hey gang, Just got back from Vegas a couple of weeks ago. Stayed Downtown for the first time and like it better than the $trip. I'm so happy I got to stay at the Fremont. That's one of my favorite buildings that still stand. The inside is completely new, with only very little traces of anything orig...

If I were to guess i'd predict the new owners to dump tons of money in interior rennovations assuming they tackle it the same as they did the 4 Queens. I'm just glad MRT and Harrha's aren't in control of it anymore because they were doing a horrible job with it. It even drove regulars away from the ...

They have the pictures up of what it is going to look like on the Echelon web site. The inside looks very nice, but the outside IMO looks too dull. The main hotel towers look like they tried to copy the shape of the Wynn LV tower. The other structures are just boxes. From the plans I have seen they ...
