TILE HELP!

I know that there are threads about '50s and '60s bathroom tile - but I am looking for tile that is from the '70s. It is not square or rectangle, but kind of a Christmas ornament shape, if that makes ANY sense at all. The color is beige, but I can use any color and then refinish it when I refinish t...

Warner Robins GA

This is how little mid century is thought of in Warner Robins, GA. You don't even get interior pics!

Yeah, I left them big 'cause I really wanted everyone to see how great this house is/was. It was recently sold - I went to check it out and we talked about purchasing, but there was so much work to be done. I don't know if the buyer will retain the interior and fix that god awful kitchen. It hasn't ...

In my old life as a cop and crime scene tech, (really, not joking), we would take several shots of the same frame stepping the ap up and down and increasing and decreasing the exposure time. Of course back then it was all film so you didn't know what you had until it was developed. Nowdays if you ha...

Best to use a manual 35 mm (or manual digital) and open the apeture a little bit - with a longer shutter open time. MUST use a tripod for the best effect. Step up and down with different settings to get the best photo. Don't use the flash. You might can also lighten it up some with photoshop if it's...

I have not refinished appliances, but I have refinished a bathtub. :D Unfortunately I had to take it from its original mint green to white to match the replacement sink and toilet. You should be able to get some type of enamel repair kit for the section that is broken. Probably will require tinting ...

One of my favorite homes here in WR (10th - 13th pics), was built in 1956 by a local doctor. It is 2400 sq feet - which was large for the time, but only two bedrooms and two baths, albeit the children's room was huge and later divided into two rooms. This house had all of the perks - stainless steel...

Awesome house! It was definitely built as a house for cocktail parties. Hope you enjoy it! My uncle had a reel to reel - he was a plastic surgeon. I thought it was too cool. He would come home from the hospital, pour a martini from the pitcher in the fridge, turn on classical music on that monster o...

This race for size drives me nuts! My sister and her husband and 1 8 year old child live in a 3500 sq foot mcmansion with a 3 car garage. She hates decorating and hates cleaning. They had a perfectly servicable 1600 sq foot home, but it wasn't enough. They had to have the upstairs media room - that ...

It's a great modern house, but there's absolutely no purpose to the size of it. I read recently where people are finally downsizing their sq footage again. I never understood why a family of 4 needs 4000+ square feet. My parents raised my sister and I in an 1800 sq foot ranch with plenty of room. We...

More MCM homes

Riding around town, (I've only lived here since 1975), I always find another MCM. Here are my three latest finds as well as a former chiropractor's office that I've always liked.

I purchased my condo through an unsolicited offer from the original owners. A little differently, though, because it was a rental unit and they had not lived in the area for about 20 years, but it was income for them. I was driving through and realized it was empty. I researched who owned it and wro...

I once saw a house that had floor to ceiling louvres that when turned one way created a wall and when turned sideways opened the bedroom up to the hall and front glass wall. They had a dowel that you turned like mini blinds to open and close the wall. They were attached at the ceiling and floor to s...

I will try to get some photos posted of both the current decor and old photos of our '70s ranch. Our condo now is vintage 1973 with a few cool touches - 3 sets of aluminum sliders and I do love my swirly textured ceiling, although I miss the glitter that was in our ranch, lol.

It reminds me of a house that I toured here in Georgia - which is on my website http://westcliffcondos.tripod.com/ I think it's more the staircase off of the front entry. You are so lucky to have this fab party home.

My 1973 aluminum sliders had the same problem. My husband vacuumed the rails really well, cleaned the door wheels and scrubbed the rails then WD40s them on occasion. Now they open smoothly with no problem. We have 3 sets that are in the living room, tv room and master bedroom. The real trick is to k...

Okay, I have to say I love "coppertone" appliances. I grew up with this color, stove, dishwasher and fridge. My mother's wallpaper - no matter where we lived - included copper, harvest gold and olive green. Yes, our kitchens were a plethora of '70s color. In the '60s the kitchen wasn't so ...
