Here are some pics. I was sad, however, that we couldn't line the cars along firestone, as I feel the message would've been more dramatic that way, atleast to the passers by. The strong showing was great to see, and I hope the political aspect of this works out as well as the cruise did. http://i5.p...

wow... thank you for the amazing insider's look. I had no idea they were adding a whole new underground segment to the observatory. Growing up in silverlake, I frequented the observatory throughout my childhood; I'm very excited that it will finally be finished soon.

Los Angeles's last operating drive in theater(56k be warned)

Vineland drive in, City of Industry. For those that might not have heard of it, and may be interested, I gladly post this topic. Having recently discovered it myself, I've attended three times over the past few months, and really get a kick out of this ritual of roadside americana. Although I enjoy ...

Did I read this wrong, or are they referring to the building that is currently housing the liberty bell? I was in Philly a few months ago and went to see the liberty bell... I don't recall any buildings sitting there vacant.. :?

Kinda convenient.. I'm in need of getting a carb rebuilt since the damn thing is running like crap and leaking gas all over the intake manifold . Taking into account the name being "Pony Carburetors", do they only deal with ford components, or any make? Definitly sounds like a run of ...

And then what!? What will happen to the Parasol restaurant and its beautiful interior? I spoke with the employees there.. the building will still be around, although it will go through extensive remodeling. Probably means the interior will be replaced with a generic modern one, and the sign will mo...

Thank you, sir. It's a standard 3 on the tree, and although it theoretically could've had plymouth's "hy drive" (fluid coupling between engine and 3 speed manual), being a bottom of the line car meant options were highly unlikely. The radio is actually of 1954 vintage, and was added in (of...

I can confirm that the sign pictured above is at the San Fernando rd. location, and not the other. The sign is visible from the 5 freeway just south of the 134 as you look towards Glendale. Growing up in Silverlake, I've known of the industrial park next door for some time as having ample space to s...

Hi all. 2tone ta directed me to this site and I'm very enthused about the purpose and goals that this group seeks to accomplish. I frequented Astro's in Silverlake growing up, and have always been a fan of 50's cars and the accompanying roadside architecture that made the culture of that time so spe...
