The return of SPACE AGE ASH TRAY!

WARNING! The following is a amateurish "press release" of a book I had just re-edited, re-done and re-published with an attached YouTube trailer. "SPACE AGE! That umbrella that covered post-WW2 pop culture which gave us elaborate offerings like Martin Denny Records, tiki bars, 8-track...

Westchester's Marina Apartments

Sometime ago, I posted a quicky YouTube video about a piece of real estate I usually dump into whenever I'm in Westchester, CA and walking down Manchester Blvd.

The video and it's description is self explanatory.

Las Vegas Is My Beat

Within the last couple of days, I've been reading Las Vegas Is My Beat by Ralph Pearl. Dated? Obviously but a damned great read. Anyways, I curious about Ralph himself. There's not much info on the guy: did he write another book [he joked that he was planning Son Of LA...], whether he's still around...

A moment to kill time with....(1964 NYWF related)

I got myself one of those "podcasts" deal, though it's just clips of unusual audio junk with none of the amutur (sic) "professional" babbling from the host. So, on the eve of flying off to a 18-day cruise, I managed to update my "pod": http://thatdonoguy.podbean.com/ Sh...

The smell of freshly opened Vinyl! Actually, it's mixture of vinyl and cardboard that sets my brain cells into overdrive. First LP I freshly opened was ELO's 1979 LP Discovery and it was down hill since.

You can tell how many hundreds of records I have, don't ya?

Las Vegas 1980 photo set...

After almost over a year, I finally got around to use my damned Flickr account and posted a bunch of old photos of some of my trips. A small set of which was a hand full I took of Las Vegas during 1980. Not much and it was shot with a primative camera (well, for todays standards), but some were spar...

Surviving NYC and the Unisphere

The following is a excerpt from my NYC travel journal; It's day three and my mom and I had just survived Xanadu, the tour group and (thus far) NYC: Mom and I separated from there and I went off to Flushing Meadows to see my "other Xanadu", the 1964/65 New York Worlds Fair. Thanks to some ...

SPACE AGE ASH TRAY covers the 'Space Age' era from the height of the 50's to it's end in the late 70's from the view of one lone fanboy, yours truly, the author. The 150-page book is one part essay/rant on the pop culture from this era and personal reflection thereof, one part art book of buildings...
