can't do it

I don't put any chemicals on my lawn, and half of it is an organic garden. Just can't do it. The stuff breaks down anyway. I know I'm weird, and maybe totally wrong, but I just can't do it. Just like I don't use plastic cookware or containers. Yuck. I would assume that you would still have the weed ...

rocks in landscaping

Hi, I've got a few different areas of my yard that have landscaping fabric covered with rock. One area is covered in small rocks (like pea gravel), another with river rocks, and another with larger rocks. My experience has been that there is no landscaping fabric that is affordable, eco friendly (an...

need large outdoor dining table for Homecrest wire chairs!

Hi, I have been searching for a large outdoor table to match nicely with my wire Homecrest dining chairs. I'd like a round table with at least a 36"+ diameter. It would be nice if it could withstand the Minnesota elements. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. My chairs will either be white o...

Really interested in AJ's cedar edging or other ideas

Hi sorry for reviving an old thread but I'm really interested in learning more about AJ's cedar wood edging especially how it curves. I tried to search for interesting edging types on the message board, but didn't find much. I really hate everything I'm seeing at the big boxes. I am not a fan of any...

Thanks everyone. We ended up going with a 6" remodel IC can. We thought we'd have more time before the new soffits went up. This worked out fine, it's a subtle round flat shower light, looks appropriate, and gives off just the right amount of light. We got our double classic bullet lights from ...

looking for outdoor recessed lighting

Hi everyone! I tried to search through past posts but got overwhelmed. I am looking for an outdoor recessed can type light for my entry door area. It is directly in front of my storm door that swings out so it needs to be almost completely flush. I've got a 1958 ranch that has huge 4' soffits. Any i...

I was thinking of doing that. The tiles being opaque is important to me, and the size is also. I really don't want anything less than 1". Modwalls Brio glass is 3/4". For some reason 1" looks a bit more vintage to me. I could be completely mistaken! Does 3/4" look more "Dwel...

Congoleum upside down? (on purpose!)

We are about to tile our basement and kitchen with Congoleum VCT. When we got the samples we were surprised to see that the bottom, or unfinished side, of the tile had a great look to it. Has anyone ever installed the Congoleum VCT upside down to show the alternate pattern? What kind of care would y...

Thanks Egads! That's what I was wondering! I suppose they could make some side cover panels too to coverup the white boxes. We had massive ice dam damage in my vintage pink kitchen and it's toast. Anyone have laminate kitchen cabinet doors made?

Hi, I'm dreaming of a light blue aquamarine kitchen. We are currently checking out Holiday Cabinets where you can pick the laminate that you want applied to the cabinet doors. Has anyone done this with Holiday or another company? We found a very nice light blue on the Pionite website. Does anyone kn...

After a lot of searching, we found some siding that will work! Menards in South St. Paul of all places has some, and they also sell the fiberboard in sheets that goes underneath the shakes. The shakes are too tall, but we can rip them down to achieve the 13 1/2 inch exposure. Thanks for letting me p...

Mod slot machine in Las Vegas - Max Action Slot Machine

Okay, I gotta ask, any slot machine players out there? Has anyone seen Max Action? This game is so fun, in the bonus round this mod/beatnik type picks girls to dance with and then at the end drives away on his Lambretta looking scooter. The graphics totally look shag like, and you can choose the bac...
