It is so nice to see something that is not "redone" "dwelled" or otherwise jacked up "in the spirit of" the original design. Beautiful house....I'd like to thank the owners for their care of this home and I truly hope that some dingbat does not buy this place and wreck ...

I see nothing in this that says that they are talking about just the Case Study designs...in fact the brochures specifically mention VDL and Kauffman etc. which were certainly site specific designs. These plans and any homes built with them will be million dollar + homes for the well to do......noth...

Am I the only one who sees this as a bit sad? The thought of a person buying the plans for the Kaufmann residence and then building a new reproduction somewhere else seems contradictory to what I know and appreciate about these designs....They are not Eichlers or Alexanders where the intent was to b...

If that was how screen block was made back in the day I can assure you MCM pads would have cost about 2x as much as they did. That is some kind of artisan style block making.....and I'm with SDR that mix is too dry.

I'm certainly glad that this property is well cared for but does it surprise anyone else that it is on the local register? That place has been heavily remodeled....I don't really dislike what has been done but I think it is a stretch to call it historic at this point.

Aside from the hurt-my-eyes-driveway I personally like it. I would look at this as more of a remodel though (the way I'd personally prefer to live my daily life in), as it's not a time capsule recaptured. I can agree with that point of view but not when we are talking about Neutra..Frank Lloyd Wrig...

San Diego County CA-- Lloyd Ruocco FAIA 685k-749k

This is the 1949 Marvin Jackson Residence by Lloyd Ruocco FAIA. Ruocco is well known as San Diego's pioneering modernist architect. The house needs some work; it is an absolutely amazing piece of mid-century design. I am not a real estate agent just a fan of the architect. I am hopeful that someone ...
