I've eaten in the Metro soul food restaurant next door to this place. Despite the prescence of the light rail, this particular stretch is still a bit rundown, but slowly reviving. I can understand the business interest in erecting a new building. Don't agree with it, but I understand it. The revital...

Farmer's is hanging in there, although I'm not sure that it is making any money. Seemingly in a good location next to City Hall, it was surprisingly under-used this morning at breakfast. I've also been there during the week, and apparently, City Hall staff go elsewhere. I can't help but to think of...

Those are GREAT photos.

I have to say, I miss the old classic rural & agricultural Southern California. There was such an interesting contrast between urban, suburban, and rural in such a relatively small area.

Sometimes I think I was born too late.

Every time I turn around, another landmark is being destroyed.

In the future, Orange County will be completely flattened and rebuilt every five years. Why bother building anything that lasts anymore? It'll be torn down once some nitwit bean counter decides it's out of date.

We kids were the remote control. This was EXACTLY the same in my family. If Mom wanted the audio muted during a commercial or the channel changed, I was the one to do it. And it really was a dial, too, so when TV characters told me "don't touch that dial" it was either no problem because ...
