Saw the house the first day it was listed but decided to pass due to challenges of the lot. Pretty sure the guy who has it under contract plans to do a reno with his architect, not tear down.

Ikea blinds as an option

Jorge - It looks like you have aluminum frame windows so another option may be silver colored venetian blinds from Ikea (style name is Stalis). The widest they appear to come is 79" across, so this may not work for your widest windows but they are very inexpensive and look great (and unobtrusiv...

Toto Aquia Dual-Flush Toilet

One button to flush a little...two buttons to flush a lot.

Stylish AND kind to the environment. I have 3 and love them! All the flushing power you could ever want.

Thanks for your kind words on our house. We were not really looking to move but found a foreclosure that was too good a deal to pass up...so now we've now listed our beloved Northcrest reno. We have loved living in it. Hope it goes to someone who appreciates it as much as we have.

Atlanta, GA - P&H Homes - $325K

Here's a link to a fairly recent listing in the Huntley Hills neighborhood of Chamblee in Atlanta. The listing is a 4BR/3BA split level designed by P&K Homebuilders, which also built the Northcrest subdivision around the same time. Nicely restored, which many of these homes are not. I de-countri...

Maybe it's a Southern thing...

Here in Atlanta, I've seen several MCM houses "improved" in much the same (inappropriate) manner. We're talking 6-piece crown molding, country kitchens, drapery with multiple layers of flowery swags, and, my least favorite, white paint on a beautiful cedar post-and-beam ceiling. :rage: My ...

House likely to be razed

I went to see this house on Arborvista, which is pretty retro cool. It's under a contingent contract to a guy who wants to tear it down to put up a McMansion if he can get the funding (the street already has a few unfortunately). Let's hope this guy has bad credit and can't get a loan so that the ho...

I have seen this house -- and it is fantastic

The owners are sad to leave but were transferred out of state for a job. That must have been some job to leave this place... I just bought my own midcentury dream house (currently under renovation) in Atlanta's Northcrest neighborhood. Marc, you should definitely check out Northcrest if you're in th...

At least they did not put a country kitchen in there. I have seen several "renovations" in Northcrest that have gone down that path, including mine (complete with tacky sunflower wallpaper border) when I bought it (currently renovating with Ikea birch cabinetry).

My husband and I have been looking to buy a midcentury modern house in Atlanta, so I was excited to see the Robert Green house posted. I drove by with my husband today to preview the house, and in a nutshell it is smack up beside I-285. The roar of the traffic was pretty unbearable. So the search co...
