Thanks so much for the tips! We had a fab time and I'm still catching up on posting about it on RetroRoadmap.com. I'm bound and determined that each place we visited gets a decent writeup, even if it takes me forever! Here are some of the places we visited that I'd recommend: VA: Texas Tavern, Roano...

We actually will be in Memphis on a Sunday, I'll have to do some investigation - thanks for the tip! We're very very excited about this trip, I've wanted to do a big ol' American Roadtrip for years now, so we decided to just do it. Time flies! I know the fact that we're covering a lot of ground will...

Was the Tastee Freeze in Delaware? I can probably tell you what is there now, since I'm pretty sure it's still not there. Unless it's become the Dairy Palace!

Thanks for sharing the links to these great photos, it boggles the mind that there are such places just locked up and forgotten about. That's probably one of the things that keeps us "urban archeologists" going, the thought of finding the King Tut's Tomb of MCM!

We're lucky to have 2 Arby's in the Wilmington DE area, where we used to live and both have the signs. The one on Kirkwood highway is a single hat, but Route 202 is lucky enough to have a rare double hat with 2 signs, because the restaurant is in the middle of the north and south lanes. Let's hope t...

Went to the exhibit yesterday and it's a real treat- if you're in Philly at all between now and November 7 you should check it out. Great photos of the stores, signage and neon that used to be commonplace in the city and many others I'm sure. Gorgeous oversized black and white photos I wish I could ...
