I work nearby and have spent a good amount of time on that property and would be very impressed if they can pull this off. Within the past four years that area has had some really major changes. The build out of the new Century condo's on the footprint of the former hotel tower next door, the CAA bu...

If I remember correctly the lot to the immediate left of the motel was included in the sales price and the next three lots over had been sold to Ms. Siegel with the intention of her building some prefabs there. With the bloom coming off the housing market's rose I bet that area of Desert Hot Springs...

I drove by tonight and was surprised to see it gone. Asked my wife where we would get steak and eggs...

She suggested Twohee's on Huntington.

The Norm's sign is no longer and only the pole exists. The lights in the parking lot are awesome as well.

Happy trails Norms.

August, I hear where you are coming from but as I learned a few years back, you never know what a seller will accept when you make an offer. While the folks selling the building did 'want' an all cash, no contingency offer I suspect that after several months of no offers they didn't get exactly what...

I wondered the same thing and when speaking to the mortgage broker I'd been working with he laid out a best case scenario of being able to finance $200,000 or so. Above that was going to require a lot of details related to the actual motel business. I sure hope for the best for whoever is buying it.

I'm guessing she's not asking you to give half your commision away or anything but rather if you find that business is good AND you think that this site is helpful to your business they could use a few bucks.

I think you hit the nail on the head. The house isn't a palace and was designed for what seems to be a small family type living arrangement. For 2 million dollars you have to be able to afford about 15K per month in housing costs which is pretty far beyond the income level of pretty much everyone I ...

If nothing else you guys should roll over and see the stuff in person at the Pacific Decsign Center THIS WEEK! I always enjoy looking at these things in person and getting a feel for their size. Plus, if you ask really nicely, they give you a catalog for a lower price and you can oogle it at home. I...

I had a chance to hit up his birthday party on Saturday and it was a good time. Plenty of good Lebanes food, good wine and nice people floating around. I even bought a small table top candle holder they made out of scrap wood from his workshop. He's still kicking and having a great time. Hopefully o...

No need to apologize Futura Girl. I'm a bit wary of starting to raise my hopes up again so I'm kind of sitting back and watching myself. I could see myself buying this with one other partner but don't think that building a trust/condo type ownership system is going to be a quick process. If anyone i...

Now, if it were to stay put, I think the north end of the lot, depending on setback requirements, a pool/jacquzzi/patio common area could fit in nicely. I would seriously consider a 6ft+ block wall and trees aound it too. The one lot next door could be used to create an enclosed parking lo...

I'm still interested but am certain that I will continue to live in Los Angeles and only use it as a vacation type place so the price is a bit too much for me right now. If there is a group of people interested I think that to buy it will take at least 60,000 upfront and $3,000 per month for the pur...
