I had white epoxy terrazzo installed in my house a few years back. It is a very big job and not cheap either. Expect to pay way more than $2 per sq ft installed. With that being said, I love my epoxy floors. They are easy to keep clean and everyone always comments on them. It took almost a whole mon...

I like Jonathan Adler's designs too...but that creeps me out as well.

Jonathan Adler is much better than Philippe Starck in my opinion, but I am sure not everyone agrees. Everyone is different.

I am going with poured terrazzo for my house as I am remodeling right now. I removed all old flooring (carpet, vinyl, etc) and was fortunate enough to use a local company here to install the poured terrazzo for a decent price that is nowhere near $35/sq foot. Had it been this much, I would have neve...

Those are some great pictures. The house is coming along very nicely. Love the pendant lamps.

Congrats! :)

Its been two years for me since I signed my papers and I am still tearing things up.

You should have seen the bright green "astro turf" shag carpet my house had before I ripped it out. It made my eyes hurt.

I don't think it is necessary to use a realtor to make this type of offer because nothing has been signed or put in writing at this point. However, I could be wrong. I bought my mid century ranch home from the original owner who built the home in 1956 without the use of a realtor. I aked her about t...

I don't think the backsplash is horrible, but I am not sure about it either. It is one of those things I would have to see in person to make a fair judgement. I chose to keep my original cabinets because they are solid wood and still in good shape. Even the original formica is in good shape. The onl...

Yes, the jalousie windows are original to the house. I bought this house from the original owner who built the home in 1956. I think my house is the only one left on the street with the jalousie windows and doors still intact. Replacing them is not at the top of my list right now. To be honest, they...

I have lived in the house for almost two years now. I am slowly tweaking it to my taste, but leaving it as original as possible. Jesgord, I have uploaded some exterior pictures to my photobucket album. I am not a photographer by any means, so the quality of these pictures are not the best. http://s9...

Jesgord- I will try to get some more pictures of the exterior. Thank you for the compliments. After all the input I have read from others, I have decided perhaps it is best to leave the ceiling the way it is for the time being. I am enjoying this community, too bad there are not many local people in...

Thanks for the responses guys. I wish I had asked about these panels before I bought the home but this being my first home, I was naive to asking about such things like asbestos. Question about ceiling

I hope this question has not been asked before, but I couldn't find anything in the search to answer this one. I have been debating about removing these white panels and wood verneer paneling from my ceiling to achieve the "cliff may" look. What I would like to know if I ever choose to do ...

The idea was to have it operate like a modern radio with both am/fm, but I am starting to think it is probably best to just leave it alone.

Thanks for the suggestion on the am transmitter. I am going to try it out and I will let you know how that works out.

You are correct, it is a tube set up and I am not going to be digging around in there. I know nothing about tube radios. Possible FM addition to old intercom system with only AM

Hello all, I would like to know if this can be accomplished. My intercom system only has ability to play AM stations at the moment. Has anyone ever been able to add in FM stations? Here is a pic of my current intercom. http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l170/mahickey/house/DSC02915.jpg
