Teak on boats are varnished i think? some is but most isn't. i've spent a lot of time on boat forums lately since most of the google hits on teak are from boat guys. it seems some guys do varnish teak, in fact like i stated, on the epifanes varnish can it says you can use their varnish on bare teak...

I agree with you on the raised bull nose/ mortar bed. Like I said this is my first full tile job and I've never done mortar. After i jack hammered the old mortar out and found out the old liner was improperly installed and leaked for years, i decided to kerdi the shower so it would last for 50 years...
