Don't know anything about the actual house (but judging from the aerials it must've been gorgeous in its heyday), but it was home to the writer Irving Stone, who wrote the Agony & the Ecstasy and Lust for Life.

Hello all, I've been coming here for a while, but finally decided to jump in and register. Seems like a great bunch of people here. I got into mid-century modern architecture through John Lautner, and from there, it was just one amazing discovery after another for me (Ellwood, A. Quincy Jones, etc.)...
