hardi-panel

Don't they make hardi-panels that are completely flat and not at all trying to look like wood? As with trex for decking, I think it's best when the material is being true to itself, even if it's not the original material used for the house. I've seen hardi-board look really nice when it's completely...

downdraft, bad

I would caution against a downdraft cooktop. The fatal flaw in this design is that when the fan is actually strong enough to draw the air from above a pan, it is also drawing the flame away as well. Hence, you have to turn the fan off or way down if you want a decent amount of heat, making the fan u...

wants both commissions

There are many agents out there who operate that way (always pushing for dual representation), so I understand why people are mistrustful. The listing in question is not mine though, so I have no chance of getting both commissions. Honestly, I don't care about trying to do both sides of a deal...I f...

Wolff House

Supposedly the original owner asked Lautner to design his version of "Fallingwater." You can definitely see a connection. Forget the Hollywood view...the view from the lowest level by the pool, looking up at the other levels of the house is amazing. This is my church.

re: copper pipe

Nice to hear from you again! Since your stylish Pugsley is on stilts, it will be quite easy to run the pipes wherever needed. It should be pretty cost-effective and an easy, one-day job. That is aside from any drywall or tile repair that needs to be done afterward, but I don't think that will be an ...
