Hey guys, I'm back! (doubtful anyone realized I was gone 8-) ) Unfortunately due to work stuff, we had to move from Dallas to northern Virginia and sold my beloved Cliff May. And the DC area real estate market is much more expensive than Dallas so it was about a year before we were able to buy a hou...

Dallas, TX - Cliff May - $80k Foreclosure Auction (not mine)

I hope whoever gets it restores it back to how it should be and remove that god awful 2 story addition from the front. |:( I know it n...

Also, it's not a good idea to have your foundation vents completely covered or moisture will build up. It used to be the recommendation but has changed.

If you ever have any questions about plantings, let me know! I finished the Dallas County Master Gardener school earlier this year. I've learned a lot since getting our yard done by a landscape architect a few years ago (both what's good and what's bad). Texas natives are definitely the way to go! I...

Welcome, TerriLynn! Personally, I would restore the house to what it originally was and choose some furniture/decorations with a mod flair rather than remodel the house in that style. I'd also recommend living in the house for a while before starting any major projects. And please don't paint the br...

I agree with Joe. I'd recommend living with your kitchen for a while. If it turns out you need more cabinet/counter top space, you could always get a carpenter to add more that look the same. I'm really sad that the previous owners here gutted a perfectly good kitchen to replace it with an IKEA one....

Hey all, we finally got the sofa! And we ended up buying the Heywood Wakefield coffee table too. The van was great--only had 1k miles on it so was very new. We had plenty of space and bought some other things like a Philco TV that works and some other knick knacks. Here's a picture right after putti...

Cliff May Closets - Switching the Opening to Opposite Wall

Has anybody switched their closet door to the opposite wall? Right now, we have a double door closet in our living room: http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3306/5755590202_2c9640d23c.jpg We just got a great vintage sectional but it extends past the doors. We never use that closet and would like to knock ...

Thanks everyone for your advice. I think I'm going to end up renting a cargo van from here http://www.cappsvanrental.com/ for 3 days 600 miles included for ~$200. I really only need it two days but the third day gives me time to pick it up and drop it off without being rushed and the 3rd day is 600 ...

How do y'all transport furniture for (semi) long distances?

I've got a hold on this great sectional sofa but it's in San Angelo (4.5 hours away from me in Dallas). My husband and I don't mind the drive and plan to make it a mini vacation (San Angelo is a pretty neat town) but so far, haven't been able to figure out the vehicle. U-Haul rents pickups but we'd ...
