I went through the thermostat hunt a couple of months ago as well. The old thermostat was located in the hallway and I wanted something low profile as far as protruding into the hallway path. The one I ended up buying was flush-mount/recessed and had touch screen control. If I remember correctly, it...

Hey Tim, in the picture you are referencing, the fan component (in the wall) is a new Nutone. Home Depot carries them. The grill in the pic is original. The grill that comes with the new fans are round, plastic, and off-white in color. You might be able to have them chromed or plated.... Not sure wh...

Front, back, sides. I feel like I have taken this house 90% of the way and have been somewhat torn about the additional fence expenditure. I am very pleased with the interior, however with all of the glass....the view from the inside looking out in addition to privacy could be improved considerably....

I am considering putting up a fence as the last phase of this project. Anybody want to offer up their preference for style of fence? continue with board & batten style, or maybe horizontal slat, etc? I am open to suggestions. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_hC8wP6Sk1po/S32hYmzUoRI/AAAAAAAAApc/mVDa0hoRlBQ/...

egads, the kitchen sink is vented just to left side of the window. While looking from the outside, you can actually see the pipe coming out from behind the brick then continuing up through the soffit and roof. you may be able to see the vent pipe on the roof in the Before:#3 or After:#43 pics. trave...

I appreciate the compliments and the constructive feedback....we aren't all evil. The Cliff May homes with mistlites and birch paneling with the vintage patina are definitely my favorites. I am not aware of any in the Dallas collection that have mistlites except for windows in the bathroom. If I wer...

Thanks for the feedback Joe. As you can probably tell, I took a couple of cues from your house…particularly the black beam and SS. The skins on the cabinets are actually SS panels. The backsplash is a very close match of aluminum laminate. Spent quite a bit of time on the island size trying to maxim...

Lotta Livin Trial & Jury - A Cliff May Re-muddle (Dallas

Just finishing up some misc stuff on the punch list for a Cliff May re-muddle and beginning the clean up and landscaping. Hardwood floor guys will be back in the next few days to apply the remaining coats of poly and moldings before I put it on the market. I decided I was far enough along to post so...

Too much White - Too much Wood? Cliff May Kitchen Remodel

I have been pondering the question of what is "too much white" as well as "too much wood" on my Cliff May 3212 re-do. My issues specifically are the kitchen, cabinets, countertops, and back-splash -- I have hardwood floors throughout. Plan to keep the walls/ceilings white. Keep i...

I agree with the gate as front door comment. I haven't gotten as far as researching it yet but was considering something in the realm of an intercom with the ability to buzz someone in. Similar to the capability some apartment buildings would have. Do you know of any brands/sources.

I am hoping for some good neighbors as well.... have a new fence in my rehab plan and had hoped to have those discussions before the current owners moved. didn't happen. I must say. The Cliff Mays with fenced-in front courtyards are not conducive to walking up and knocking on someone's front door. V...

"Spectacular one-of-a-kind mid-century modern known as the Round House. Truly a work of art beginning with the domed motor court covered in wisteria, the home offers a mixture of materials rarely seen. A rare opportunity to own a masterpiece of architecture that has only had 3 owners. The myria...
