REALLY popular, with Vienna Sausages and corned beef hash coming in second and third. Also things like chili served on rice. My favorite mid century food (btw, my ...

I've been an illustrator, designer (mostly print) and product developer for a toy company. I'm not sure I agree w/ scowsa 100%. There are two types of patents: a design patent and a utility patent. The design patent is self explanatory - it covers the look or design of an object. The utility patent ...

Back in the day, you were supposed to able to pour your milk right into those single serving boxes - the boxes were perf'd to open up on the largest flat surface, and the wax paper liner kept the milk from soaking thru.

we have this on our floors, under the hardwood. we had to scrape it, which was hard enuf on the floor! btw, sometimes the old stuff had asbestos in it. you may want to have it tested... What if we replace 'tree' with 'redneck's mid century modern home' - I should be able to have it torn down to protect my 'original ocean view'? BTW, the protected views include city, queens necklace, and harbor views - and LA harbor views ain't much to look at, if you ask me. I'd take the tree any d...

Doesn't a tree account for a 'view'? If I look out my window and there's a 40 year old tree there that I like, isn't that somewhat like the view of a mountain or ocean or city lights? Part of the problem is that people buy homes not just to live in, but as an 'investment'. The 'investment' trumps fr...

That's not completely accurate - the house wasn't put up for sale to the general public - it was sold by a lawyer to this developer. So, preservationists couldn't purchase it.

So, in fact, I will continue to pass stink eye onto said developer.

Never trust mattress people; they usually want to sell you more than you need. Instead of a box spring, you can get what's called a 'bunky board', which is a flat support for a mattress on bunk beds - we have one for a queen-sized bed - it's certainly cheaper than a box spring and is only about 3-4&...
