My friend and I have a Knoll type sofa for sale. I believe it is by Steelcase. it is extremely comfortable. It has tufted cushions and chrome legs. Although the back is larger than 30 inches, I don't see the problem. The doorway we got it through is only 30 inches wide. You just lay it on its side o...

Not exactly a dresser but it looks nice. Also it's bigger than it looks, so check out the dimensions. Could be used for clothing storage?

This is the closest thing I can find to your price without going IKEA. It would be $200 more than your asking price INCLUDING shipping.

Here is an interesting option. It's a reproduction of George Nelson case goods. You could buy one or two dressers and could use the bench as a pedestal if desired.

Steelcase sofas

I may be getting a few steelcase sofas for free. These sofas are Knoll knock-offs and seem to be pretty high quality. I will probably reupholster one and keep it as a second sofa. I am trying to decide whether or not to reupholster the others before I sell them. The others are upholstered in vinyl. ...

Well, no I was not refering to your lamps in particular. I also said I like kitsch, but a little goes a long way. I like the fixture this thread is about too. To be honest, for some reason if I had a kitschy item (and I do have one lamp that I would consider in this category), lighting would be my f...

I personally agree with Joe for the most part. I don't think Modern and Mid-Century Modern are interchangeable however. I think Mid-Century Modern is one segment of Modern. I tend to use use Modern and MCM interchangeably without thinking, simply because it is the Modernism I am more familiar with. ...

I don't have a Saarinen table, but since no one has answered you I will give my experience with rilsan. I have a set of 4 Bertoia chairs used as a dining set. They have held up very well. The only scuffs were on the bottom of the base and that was there when I bought them used. The previous owner di...

Well, I thought the design was originally for indoor/outdoor use (in fiberglass). Here is what I will say about the HM shells vs. Modernica shells (my opinion may not be popular). I would consider the Modernica shells to be 'closer' to being the originals. They use the correct material number one. N...

The Eames lounge isn't too small for me (I'm 5'10) but it just looks smaller in person. The womb is wonderful, and as I gear up to buy a lounge and ottoman of some kind I have considered it. However, I think it is too big for my small quarters. I really love the grasshopper/ottoman. It is so comfy w...

Yes I remember you from there. Seems a few refugees came over here. I love the Papa Bear, but haven't seen it in person. Does it trick you in scale like many other modern pieces? It looks like a large chair in photos. Before i saw an Eames lounge and ottoman in perosn I thought it was going to be bi...

For a newcomer, which film is best to experience first? Are they in French, and if so do they have subtitles?

If it spreads the use of modern design, I don't mind copies too much. But I personally don't want to own a copy of anything. Modernica is about the only one I'd buy, because I would call them a reproduction. I also would buy some of the Bauhaus stuff as reproductions, since technically they all are.
