If it's just raw stained wood (no clear coat), just use Watco danish oil. You can pick it up at Home Depot and Lowes. If it has a clear coat, the piece will have to be stripped, sanded and re-stained. Hopefully you can live with the minor dings and keep most of it's natural patina.

Is your retaining wall made out of concrete blocks? I'm needing to build a retaining wall myself and wondered if I could go the concrete block route, but didn't know if it would be strong enough. I need to build it eight feet high at its highest point. If this is what yours is, can you explain how i...

Virtual tour of Mid Century Homes/Building in St. Louis

A few weeks ago a couple of the guys from KC Modern (Robert, Bob and Jerad) came to St. Louis for the Saarinen exibit. I would agree with Joe and Classic Form. The molding on the door won't look as bad once the door is a "muted" orange color. I'm not sure about a center bore knob. Patching the existing hardware hole and making it look good might be tricky. Good luck in whatever you choose.

Stephen, I suggest using paver base (minus rock) which they sell at Lowes and Home Depot for under the pavers. It compacts really well. For what you're doing I would just dig out the area wher the paver will lie. Dig the hole deep enough for about 1-2 inches of paver base and for the paver. I would ...
