I'm not really much of either, but enjoy aspects of it. I like army parkas, but only for when I'm out using my snowblower in -20F weather. I like riding my scooters. They can be more enjoyable than my motorcycle when I'm in an urban environment. That being said, I much prefer my bike when I'm trying...

Nope, not jail.. Just winter. Also, I've sort of fallen into obsession with photography, and have been spending a lot of internet time studying it. The problem with message boards is that there are so many of them. I think I'm a member of at least 30, so I get sidetracked occasionally. Long ago, a c...

That's bad news on the pickup Allen! Can we expect any deer jerky in the mail? In Iowa, as you know, this is pretty common, so we usually get mad if the deer gets away alive ;) I hope you can get it all pieced back together and roadworthy. I am still driving my dented up Volvo daily after pounding/p...

That's a good term for it. Hibernation. Now that spring is rolling around, it's amazing how much more I've been getting done. I can entertain folks, but we make no guarantee at Casa del Luke that the tour guide will be knowledgable on any topics, or cover any interesting material! And by the way, if...

Well, I was summoned from the depths :) I've been kinda busy lately with work, and applying for a new job recently. Anyway, my favorite Antique stores in Des Moines are the Brass Armadillo and the Majestic Lion. Both are near each other on I-80 as you're heading out of Des Moines to the east. In Old...

Yep, the Volvo has been 'fixed' with prybars, a comealong, and a rubber mallet! I've driven about 4k miles with it in its current state. I had to put a new battery (pulled out the smashed compartment), engine mount, and radiator in it. It has been running very well, all things considered. I use it a...

My ford is a basic Mainline with an 223ci inline 6 and 3 speed manual transmission. I believe it has ~63k miles on it. I just drive it as stock, including the 6v electrical system. It's kind of 'not as fun' since I got a bit of oil on the clutch plates from the rear main seal in the engine. I got it...

In all honesty though in the mid 50's the one full sized auto that would be in anyones' garage barfed out more emissions than 3 hummers. I'm not much on being an activist against anything though. I have 7 licensed vehicles, two of which get under 20mpg. My pickup gets about 12 driving it around the ...

I have used mopeds in the past, and if you don't need to go more than 25mph, they are great. I use to get well over 100mpg with mine in college. I had an 82 Honda Urban Express and an early 70's Puch (with pedals, thus a true moped) When I think of scooters, I think of vehicles capable to keep up wi...

It's where highway 20 intersects I-380 (both high speed roads) You must have to have an awesome scooter.. 20 is a 65mph road and 380 is 70 mph. I'd be will...

What I have found is that buying chairs that you don't really like, but are cheap, leads to having WAY too many chairs on your premises.
