There are two residences by Eugene Choy in Silverlake on Castle St. The other is in Los Feliz, on Franklin Terrace, which was photographed by Julius Shulman I believe in 1951, it's still intact. There may be others, many Chinese families live(d) in the Moreno Highlands situated above the reservoir, ...

As of Sunday ( 10.31.10) there was an offer and a back-up already. We thought based on the rendering that the striking roof over hang ont eh front and side elevation was sadly either never achieved or altered from it's original intent later due to rot or lack of adequate support. There were numerous...

Sorry just checking back in. Yes the two sides are definitely reflective of the two personalities that designed each. The Schindler side is completely paneled with plywood, not a stitch of plaster to be had. I know why he did it, but its overwhelming today and could use some relief. The Schindler si...

I took a look on Sunday, it's a fascinating idea, a fairly typical 1912 structure, with two very different mcm' interior shells. The spaces aren't terribly practical and reflect the inability to move walls or raise ceilings. Very little has been updated which has appeal, but there seems to have also...

Well I drove up to the house today and Im sorry to report the place is in a pitiful state. At least two broken windows, I could peer though and see the kitchen, which appeared to have been in recent use. the other is an enclosed porch, filled to the brim with debris. The electricity is on and the ro...

I wrote Michael, regarding leaving the Larchmont location he wrote:

It was a shared family decision to lease the building on Larchmont that I think it will be good for everyone in the long run. When the property is leased I will begin to look for a smaller office location.

Well, mystery solved, I had a pal that lived very near -by and once we walked up the road late on a clear night to it's driveway, I was brave enough to go up to the house itself, it certainly did seem abandoned, and incredibly original. The photos show it to look very intact, just unbelievable consi...

Too bad those salmon colored Vitriolite panels are deemed unacceptable, the buildings getting totally sanitized. If there were indeed prasmatic glass panels, wouldn't that be required to put back if the buildings owners are being given tax credits or funds to quasi- restore the facade? The Jensen Re...

Sorry for the late response scottkaycee, my 1962 Lincoln convertible is all red, exterior in a deep dark red with a matching original interior in red leather/vinyl. These are the original factory colors. Your 64 sounds quite nice, I'm particular to the 61-69's and the 56/57 Mark II's. I have photos ...

my dear old landlord Elinor (RIP) in Baltimore MD was quite proud of her 1954 horizontal GE fridge, she had a compact kitchen as it was a an 1850's row house, the cabinets were also metal and may have been Cory? I had the same question and so I assume the sculpture was removed from the site? Though I really upset about the demolition of the building I never read any threads here about salvaging the sculpture or the skylight. Is there clear photographic reference of it and is anyone aware of how it was assem...
