Can't say I've ever seen the Munster/Adam's Family/Phsyco aesthetic used to sell a house.
You can tell it was swept and dusted minutes before the pictures were taken.
Where's the shot of corpse mommy in the cellar? Does it come with Lurch or Thing or Cousin It.....or Raul Julia??

That minature Hollywood city is such a treat, no dout the highlight of the museum and worth the price of admission alone, a true antique piece of Hollywood's history. I may be a bit biased because I live in one of it's renderings (Fontenoy Tower) but it really is a special thing to see.

Hollywood Redux

I pray they don't get away with it. Nightclub developers tried to do it with the Vogue theater but failed thanks to help from the city council and Musso Franks. Read about it here: http://www.hollywoodheritage.org/news/HHI_Newsletter_12-05.pdf I live in that immediate area and it's starting to get w...

Pic n Save/Big Lots

Actually that old Pic n Save building is a gorgeous building. It's been obscured by bad paint, old tile, lousy signage etc. will be sad to loose it.

Maybe the Academy could work some adaptive re-use magic on it?

South Side of Hollywood

hmmmm, I know the CRA is redeveloping the whole south side from Highland to the Seven Seas bldg. They're documentation implies that the focus is on historic rehab and possibly forcing the slumlord out of the Seven Seas bldg if he doesn't shape up. I've always found it amusing seeing that old slummy ...

What a mess.
Well....Fairwell Movieland, maybe I'll bid on set from 'The Posidien Adventure', I mean how many people can say they own a waxy homage to Ernest Borgnine and Shelly Winters?!

I remember during the holidays they would hang a gorgeous oversized sparkling star ornament on that spacious front wall. When coming eastbound into Beverly Hills from Westwood, my brothers and I would have so much fun every year waiting to see if 'THE STAR' had been put up yet. I haven’t seen that...

If your going west on Sunset keep your eyes peeled

hmmm, a memory kicked in today, I recalled seeing something similar a few weeks ago. It was another sign, same size on the north side of Sunset Blvd going westbound very shortly after leaving W. Hollywood. I was late and unable to stop to inspect but now that I think about it I'm almost certain it w...

R.M. Schindler and $5 LAP DANCES??

Is this some sort of post modern, guerrilla performance art? Either way I'm lovin it. Last night as I rode my bike down Hollywood Blvd I noticed this metal sign bolted onto a tree in front of the infamous CAVE strip joint, which is the old Hollywood 'Sardi's' built by Schindler in '31. This sign was...

Triforium

The Triforium is really quite an interesting piece of mod design. It looks so perfectly 70's, very 'Logan's Run', it really captures that time and place in architectural history. I didn't know it was never finished? I would love to see it tootling and flashing the way it was designed instead of fart...

Wow, that neon looks so distinguished and glamorous! And the removal of the lead paint has exposed those gorgeous colored bricks! Bravo! The Winkie's in Mulholland Drive is the old 'Rock n Roll' Denny's on Sunset that was ripped down a few years ago. Looking for experienced modern architect/contractor/builder

I've been tackling the restoration of a beautiful Thornton Abell house in lower Bel Air circa '58 that suffered a nasty late 70's 'French-country-fication'...(nice new word). Irony is that Thornton himself was commisioned for the redo. Anyway, many original aspects remain including a huge 4 story wa...
