I used to work for a neon company called Whistling Oyster, and we had this sign in our warehouse. Very cool that the neon is restored. I think we sold it for $8,000, wonder what it's worth now?

Good work SDR, the color is much closer to how it looks in person. The wire wheels I have are authentic reproduction wheels. They add a lot of flair to the car in my opinion.

finally, my car

Finally got a pic to post. This is my car, but not my pic, it's from the auction when the car was sold to the guy I ended up purchasing the car from. The actual color is much more of a light turquiose, this picture is very washed out, but you get the idea. http://www.remarkablecars.com/ppads/data/10...

my new car

Man, it took me a while to get a picture to post to this forum! Anyways, below is my new dream car. I figure I might never have the home of my dreams (Eichler), but at least I got the car of my dreams! It's great cruising down the road listening to Sinatra on the Am radio! People love talking about ...

Thanks to all that have posted information so far. And to tallrick, I live in Seattle, and I do believe the zoning laws were written by communists! Iv'e done considerable research on pre-fab, and for many reasons it just doesn't fit my objectives. Recently I visited several new "Modern" ho...

NEW Mid Mod home - Is it possible?

I live in Seattle in a great late 50's ranch, but I have always wanted to build a new house similar to an Eichler or Alexnader. Recently I was approved for a construction loan in the amount of $420,000. This would have to cover the cost of land and home. The biggest obstacle so far is finding existi...

Thanks for all the responses! I'm also researching the various pre-fabs
that are on the market today, but was a little surprised to learn that many pre-fabs cost more than having a custom home built.

Mid-Century Modern House plans

I'm interested in building a 50's style modern house. Does anyone
know if working blueprints of Eichler, May, Alexander, Rummer or any other 50's style homes are available to purchase? I own a great
50's Ranch in Seattle, but would love to upgrade to a more open
floorplan. Thanks!

Thanks for all the useful information. I wasn't aware that codes had changed so much that a building a replica isn't feasible. I'm looking at parcels in the West Seattle area. Another option i'm considering is a prefab modern home, offered by Dwell, Glidehouse and others, although that wouldn't be m...

Hello everyone, I just learned of this site thru tikicentral. Recently I purchased a 1958 ranch style house in Seattle, and i'm trying to incorporate as much mid century style into the house as possible. Suggestions and ideas are welcome!
