Okay! I've just gone over this month's LRSCOM minuets, and it appears that there are still a few volunteer spots open!! If anyone would like to try to get a place, you need to call the LA Conservancy's office and ask to speak to either Annie Laskey or Connie Humberger. 213-623-2489 http://www.lacons...

If you have never heard Bob Mitchell play at the Orpheum, you're missing out on a "reel" treat! He'll be at LRS this year, I'm not sure of the night, but he'll be there just the same!

Okay Folks! Our dear friend Mary-Margaret and I have some wild plans cooking up our brains for our trip to Disneyland on July 17, 2005! She and I were at the park tonight, and couldn't help but brainstorm some possible ideas for our grand tour of Walt Disney's ORINIGAL Magic Kingdom! Keep looking fo...

Opera Pacific at Orange County Performing Arts Center is where I saw my very first opera, in the Spring of 1999. It was a touring production of Puccini's Madama Butterfly from San Francisco. Since then I have been to see over 50 performances of different Operas throughout the USA. Opera Pacific is a...

The San Diego Opera has been around forever!!! They started in the mid 1960's, and have been going strong ever since! One of the things I really love about this company is that they aren't afraid to take risks! They are the kinda company who will give you 6 performance of Puccini's La Boheme so they...

The Los Angeles Opera has a fantastic season in store!!! One of the things I love about this company, is that they present a great balance of the esoteric and the traditional. This season they will be presenting a world premier! I usually end up going to the entire LA season. The Grand Duchess (La G...

I just really liked this photo....
I believe it is from the very late 1940's, when the Los Angeles Orpheum was one of the last theatres to offer Vaudeville in the USA.

Since I've been on the Historical Theatres Committee, we have slowly been moving the film year eligibility closer and closer. When I started it was 1968, then 1971, and now it's 1975. The reason for this is because a LAC staff liaison, who shall remain nameless, has wanted the 1974 film Chinatown fo...
