Hey, Krissman, I love your house-- it's beautiful. Although, I have to agree with BOXOUTBM-- it looks like it's already "there". Another resource is Cory Buckner. She's an architect (that also does some design work) that specializes in MCM. (Her home in Crestwood Hills is featured in an ol...

Hi, Starr-- thank you; I appreciate your asking. I did see the complete pallet for Sunbrella. Their colors were too orange. The color I'm seeking is primarily red, with a touch of orange. It's very bright. (No brown or "burnt" tones.) I got the three swatches from modern outdoor today. The...

MPM-- You mentioned low-e glass as a must. I have to agree. I'm sitting in a room with both low-e dual-paned glass and older dual-paned glass that is not low-e. The windows all face to the south east. The low-e windows are fairly comfortable to the touch... maybe 70 degrees. And the windows that are...

Wow, thanks boxoutbm-- the color on the modern outdoor site does look very close. I called modern outdoor and they're sending me three swatches... they said they had another one that's even closer to a true red-orange. PacificaModern-- I'm intrigued. Do you need to provide the materials, or do the s...

xldtx-- I would ask Jan Eric Horn at 310-710-3636. He's a realtor that sells high-end MCM homes in L.A. He seems very well connected, so maybe he knows of fine MCM homes that are leased or rented out as well. If your heart is stuck on MCM, this won't work-- but if you want to know of a great Art Dec...

The good news is, there is a happy medium that can be struck, where co-sleeping is used during early infancy, while babies are still developing object permanence, and sleep-training is ...

Thank you, MPM-- I can see that the Ant chair is the inspiration behind both the Orbit and the Wolff chairs. (Only distinction is the squared detail at the bottom of Ant's back.) I got a call from George W last night-- he says he is feeling left out of the MCM discussion and wonders why I didn't include him. Joe-- The Chatanooga one is my favorite too! kjansma-- you are right. The first one is brand new, but built in MCM tradition. The other one, known as "the steel house", was built in 1960. SDR, Jan Eric Horn, the realtor listed at the top, is the one who told me about these links. He specia...

Did Al Gore grew up in an MCM?

Am I just seeing things, or could it be, that the home that Gore grew up in is a mid-century modern? (Not the first house he comes out of, but the house they drive to-- where his mom still lives.)
