I'm confused

How do you have historic districts and no zoning, isn't a historic district a type of zoning?

I like

NOTHING NEW COMES IN UNLESS SOMETHING OLD GOES OUT. As an aside-since it seems electronic devices (cell phones, computer, digicams and such) seems (sadly) they easily get out dated/fall apart only hold onto them long enough till the next electronic recycling comes to your locale, and make that trip....

Well

judging from the posts, I guess Mel's food/service was not too good.

I have dined at other Panera's and at least their food is pretty decent.

If I'm in the area and I'm hungry, I'll remember to seek this place out.

Musta

Really gone downhill from when I last saw em, they looked kinda shabby but not decrepit, but at least restored beautifully, I recall they are in that neighborhood where the 5 streets come together near Pann's right?

When

the trim on my previous house needed painting, the painter used Behr. He did a few homes in the PUD and they all used Behr paint. Seemed to be in pretty good condition after 3 years when I moved out in 05. And as another commenter mentioned application is key you need to prep your surfaces and do ne...

Not bad, like other comments I think it works. I just hope the ceiling is high enough that you can walk under it without getting bumped in the head or you have a table under it.

I think

the garage door treatment are too plain I'd put something on like windows
going down one side (vs the typical across the top). I've only seen that once in some condos in Escondido tho. It would complement the one door with sidelight entry.

Well

I've seen some houses like that at 'open houses' ya know some residents and realtors haven't a clue. I have a cousin who's kinda like that, I think he's inherited it from my uncle, essentially why fix it when I can still get my meals and use the bathroom, everything still works, but of course if you...

the post about the podocarpus

In my last house I tore out the cape honeysuckle and the oleander and planted podocarpus (the long straight kind not the one that grows into a tree). I moved away in 05 and they were still straight stalks. Last time I drove by it's finally developed into a hedge. It was a narrow strip to plant in-no...

Texas has no state income taxes but they make up for it in property taxes.

My folks lived in Wa. state it's the same way there-what they don't collect in income taxes they find other ways to get revenue.

Like most of the economy money rules too much.....make as much of it as quickly as possible, forget that you actually have to sell a product or service to make some. Is

The one near Knotts-Beach and La Palma in Buena Park still there, seems like one corner was owned by KBF and it was turned into a crystal/chandelier store, or is it the other corner. And was the Wilshire Center one a Home, I only remember it being Ahmanson Bank.
