Also, it's quite near the Arroyo Seco. That can add a lot of value even to a small house.

It's strange, in one of the Birds-eye view rotations, the water tanks are missing. I wonder if they have been removed.

Cliff May window locks for slider windows

This is a photo of the lock mechanism on the Cliff May slider windows in my house http://www.csupomona.edu/~jelerma/lottaliving/window.jpg Does anyone know where I can find replacements? There isn't any kind of identifying mark on the hardware itself. I can't even think of a search term to start loo...

The set of doors and one window have been claimed. 3 windows remain.

Anything not picked up by next Tuesday will be hauled away with the rest of the construction debris.

Cliff May Windows and Door Set - FREE

The house across the street from me is in the process of being remuddled and the owner has removed four full height windows and one door set. They are in pretty decent shape. He said I could have them, but I have no place to store them. If you want them, you'll need at least a full-sized pick-up tru...

Stephen, I think your house is the same year as our 1955 in Pomona. We replaced what may have been the original furnace about 4 years ago. We got a Bryant and I believe this is the model: http://www.bryant.com/products/furnaces/gas/preferred80x.shtml . The dimensions are roughly 18"x30" an...

CLAREMONT, CA: 1955 Cliff May $339,000

I've admired this house for a long time. It is so well maintained. I've heard that the owner is an artist and that she's owned the house since 1986. It's the only Cliff May on the street, though there are a few other mid-mods in the neighborhood. I sure would like to see it go to a sympathetic buyer...

The Long Beach tract did have T&G originally. Not too many left. They had wide facia boards and built in gutters. I didn't know that about the Long Beach Ranchos. That's cool about the built-in gutters. The Pomona tract houses don't have the T&G (tongue and groove), so there's about 4-5 inc...

Hey Joe, I know that tar and gravel roofs are not original to Cliff May modern ranch houses, but I've always thought houses like ours really lend themselves to it. I'm thinking that next time I have to re-roof I'd like to go with tar and gravel. Does it go against the authenticity of the house? What...

We have one simple rule: NOTHING NEW COMES IN UNLESS SOMETHING OLD GOES OUT.
This applies to furniture, accessories, art, books, even clothes.
(By *new* I mean new to us, and includes vintage stuff).

I do have one bathroom/kitchen window you can have. It's in very bad condition, but I think it could be salvaged. It still has the aluminum sliders in it (the Pomona Cliff Mays have sliding windows, not crank windows). I have three other "chest highs" (as Joe calls them) but they don't ope...

Only in Pomona could you find this kind of style at this kind of price. The Yorba district is one of the better neighborhoods in Pomona, with lots of MCM gems like this one. It's near the L.A.
