Orlando or thereabouts Florida

I'm going to be in Orlando this weekend for a music festival. Will be driving down from Atlanta. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to go on the way there or in Orlando? Especially looking for good antique/vintage and thrift stores for mid-century modern finds.

new limited edition Red Componibili Round Ups by Kartell

I just bought the two up and three up limited edition Red Componibili units. I love them so much. I really want to go back and buy more!! Does anyone know how long these will be in production? It says limited edition, but not for how long. Apparently they're making black versions that will be availa...

Since I couldn't afford an original ball chair, I purchased one off of ebay last December. I paid $700 total with shipping and insurance and got it within a couple of days (they used UPS freight, which is basically overnight delivery). I bought it from this company http://www.zodeco.com/ But I won o...

I stayed up to watch it last night and another show came on at 3:30am... my first house or one of those kind of shows. Is it going to air again? And if so, please state what time zone when you know the time. Wish I could have seen it. Great house!

I almost bought a ball chair from them, but then got it from this place instead:
http://www.zodeco.com/
I got it through their ebay auctions though for $730 total including shipping which was delivered in a few days. I also won a pair or their tea cup chairs for way cheaper than their website.

Thank you for allowing us in your house to look around. Didn't get a chance to introduce ourselves, because you were always talking with a group of people. We made it to all of the homes on the tour and had a blast. We even made it into an open house across the street from one of the Northcrest home...

LVL home

Has anyone on this board built an LVL home? If so, I was wondering if you could post some pictures and tell a little about how you like living in one. It's one of the options I am looking into, since I am having a problem finding a house in my budget in Atlanta that I like. http://www.rocioromero.co...

Thanks for the post. Please keep us updated, so we'll know how to get the tickets for the tour of homes. Can't wait to see some more Northcrest homes. We lost the bid on the house we wanted earlier this year in Northcrest, so hopefully this will keep us motivated to find another one.

When you painted your round-ups, did you use the Krylon plastic spray paint? I bought some Rust-Oleum specialty spraypaint for plastic a few months ago to paint some other vintage plastic pieces red, because the red that I found from Krylon wasn't as bright as I wanted it to be. I chickened out at t...

Thanks, but I don't really want to paint it. I think I've read about people using car polish or something like that to restore plastic with. Anyone familiar with that?
I also just read about Novus plastic polish. Has anyone used this with success?

does anyone know how to restore plastic that has yellowed?

I just bought two vintage white Kartell round up units that have yellowed due to age. Does anyone know the best way to restore it back to it's original whiteness? Thanks.

Where's Embry Hills? That house is amazing!!!
I've tried to do a search on the neighborhoods you have listed, but have had no luck. Do you know of a good real estate site with a neighborhood search function for these areas?

Thanks Keke. Just wondering if you commute into the city for work from your northcrest home. If so, how long does it take you to get to work in the morning? We might be going forward with putting in a bid for a house in the neighborhood and I just wanted to see what the morning traffic was like into...

One of our main concerns was the area. It seemed to be a better part of west end, but we did see some questionable characters walking around on the way to the house. Also, we could tell that someone had broken into the garage at the house at some point, because one of the window panes did not match ...

We went inside the Harlan Road house on Saturday. I believe it will need a lot of work. Right away it seems to need a new roof. There are questionable foundation problems due to a crack we saw in the side of the house. Needs major clean up and tear down of extremely tacky fixtures, mirrors and gold ...

Thanks for the heads up!! I have an appointment tomorrow (saturday) with the real estate agent to look inside the house. We drove out to the house this past Wednesday and saw the outside. Seems really great so far. I was interested in a house in Northcrest initially, but found out it was under contr...
