That's quite a collection! When I moved to Los Angeles, I started driving a '68 Volvo P1800 instead - for safety reasons. I have a '68 1800S as well (Red w/black interior). I've had it for 20 years now (It was my first car). These days, it only comes out of the garage in the spring/summer. Yours wi...

Joe's tips (other than the gun.....) are excellent and should be followed regardless of whether you have an alarm/security system. I have had security/alarm systems in a few houses-More false alarms and headaches than anything else. That said, I had one put in my current home for several reasons: 1....

Dansk recently re-issued its Kongo line. Kongo is the same shape as the infamous Fjord pattern but with composite dishwasher safe handles, instead of teak. I seem to recall that the re-issue has been re-scaled slightly (I think bigger) as these days bigger is always better. You can get 5 piece place...

Hiding the cans

Okay- a somewhat mundane topic, but a pet peeve of mine (and others here)...HIDING GARBAGE CANS. No one particularly likes to drive up to a house and be greeted by an ugly plastic garbage can. Its even worse when the local trash foragers- raccoons, opossum and bears (oh my) knock over your trash and...

Jesgord. What a sweet kitchen. I looked at your recent photos. Fantastic. The piece on the wall above the pull out table. The cook-top? What is it? Thanks Rockland. We have a Bosch integrated. (behind the blue panel) So quiet , it has a little red light that shines on the floor so that you know its on. Of all the options you present, I like #2 the best. That said, some pictures of the house (not just renderings) could be useful. Also, has the brick already been painted? If it has not, what color is it. I always prefer exterior brick unpainted-but if its been painted before, I guess all bets are off.
