A MCM home for sale in Kingston, Ontario, Canada

Recently, I picked up a real estate magazine and came across an ad that actually featured the words of "mid-century modern". These words are not something that I would have expcted to see in this part of the province. Anyways, I thought I'd treat you with a view of this MCM bungalow. Here ...

I love the windows!

I, for one, am very unfamilar with Dallas. I'm wondering what does a "neighbourhood that is a bit rough around the edges" means?

Regardless, I hope that this homes falls in the right hands of a MCM-admirer.

Wow, what a high school!

I really wonder what classes are held beyond those red railings that are mostly covered by the plunging rooflines.

This is such a beautiful home. The interior decorating makes this home look so smashing!

What brought such a beautiful home to Tullahoma? I just maps.google the location of this community and was suprised to see that it's an isolated town southwest of Nashville.

Last night, I watched this movie. I quite enjoyed learning about what happened with electric cars. I was barely a teenager, when I remember the GM EV1 were featured in some cars magazine. Initially, I thought they were cool because they were different in many ways. I never followed up with what happ...

The trap-in-time design theme of this thread reminded me of the similar trap-in-time design that I remember seeing at the Royal Ontario Museum (aka the ROM) in Toronto, Canada. I went there during many school trips during elementary school. And, I recently returned there last summer and saw the same...

*just finished reading this for the first time tonight, still in shock that there would be thoughts to destroy this gorgeous building!* (so excuse me for not thinking coherently if it is obvious that there's still some hope for this building to survive!)

Atomic Ranch - Magazine Versus Book

Hi Lotta Living Members, It was two summers ago when I first stumbled upon the magazine, Atomic Ranch. I fell in love with it and have been buying a magazine since then. However, this first magazine that I picked up was #6. So, I don't have the magazine from #1 to #5. Upon learning that the publishe...

You'll also see many, many commercials catering to the so-called "Generation X" with MidMod homes and buildings in the background, since it is that generation that likes the MidMod style. It's interesting to note the differences in view between the Baby Boomers and subsequent generations....

"I'm getting sick of seeing mid-century sofas"

I just happen to be watching The O.C. tonight. A character, Taylor, was doing some furniture shopping and had just come back from doing so. She said to another character in the show, "I'm getting sick of seeing mid-century sofas". I wonder if anyone caught this too? I was so shocked to hea...

My jaws dropped.

What a beaut!

I wonder why the homeowners would let their property go on sale just for its land. I wonder if this is implying something wrong is going on with the house. Or is it just a sign of how people in this area don't care much for this kind of home?

Uno Prii in Toronto, ON, Canada

In last Friday's Globe and Mail newspaper (one of the leading newspapers in Canada), there was an article about Uno Prii. The author described his buildings as "important to the city [of Toronto] as Richard Neutra's work is to Los Angeles or Frank Lloyd Wright's to Chicago". Here's the lin...

I believe there's an abandoned hospital that's quite mid-modern-esque in Toronto, ON, Canada. It's called the Riverdale Hospital.

Unfortunately, it's under threats of a teardown to redevelop the site.
