Myronx19, I know you were asking about commercial buildings. But, I wondered if you know about the apartment buildings designed by Uno Prii? I believe all the following are by Prii. 11 Walmer Road http://cromwell.rentmaps.ca/sites/affiliatesFB3/index.cfm?fuseaction=buildSites.buildingOverview&Bu...

Wow, that's sure a cool building!

Had I not known that these two photos are from Toronto, I would have sworn that this building is located in the SW USA. I'm only saying this based on the small amount of leafing through pictures of MCM buildings in the SW USA.

Nice rich blue skies, by the way.

Wow, what an interesting looking building. I have never seen such distinctive windows before!

Myronx19, I liked how all of your photos have a very clear blue sky as the background of the hotel. Nice job.

Plus, I love the very last photo. It's just ultimately outstanding.[/b]

Sweet! Seeing the triangulation with the rooflines of this church reminded me of a church that I once saw near Yonge and 401. Although posting a picture of this church as I don't know the name of this church or its exact location, here is my best description: it has several severe steep trinagular r...

Oh la la!

I knew that there had to be some MCM homes hiding somewhere in Toronto.

Thanks for sharing these two photos.

How did you come across these two homes? Are they located in a neighbourhood of many MCM homes?

Having visited a hospital in Ottawa quite a few times in the past week, I have been passing by this "Googie-esque" sign that says "Civic". It's located on Carling Avenue, somewhere around Parkside Ave. It looks like the building is a health clinic. Sorry I don't have a picture of...

What a fabulous picture! Thanks for sharing a bit of Canadian MCM! For your interest, there's actually an old grocery store that has become a Food Basics in Toronto. It has a reverse sloping roof (sorry I can't think of the right term, right now), in which the two sides of the roof goes upwards. Thi...

Here is a link to the Madonna Inn. There are pics of each room, none of which are the same. Not mid century, but a cool destination for a stay at someplace very unique. http://www.madonnainn.com/tour/index.asp My gosh, I just went every one of the 109 uniquely decorated motel rooms at this website....

Tikifish , I almost croak when I saw the name of Combermere, Ontario on this thread. Never in a million year did I ever think that town being link to the world of MCM! I do know of Combermere. It recently immensely suffered from two tornadoes. Once reknowned for its thick cluster of tall pine trees...

Is this building empty as the pictures suggest?

Or did you manipulate your pictures so that you wouldn't get anything non-architectural, such as people, in your pictures?

What a beaut this building is!

Yes, you're right moderns-r-us . There was an article about a Canadian MCM home in a recent Atomic Ranch magazine. It's located in the Don Mills area of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The whole area is "recognized as the first planned and fully integrated post-war community developed by private ente...

I'm too curious to know about where are the other concentrations of MCM homes outside of California. However, I'm curious to know where in Canada where there are MCM homes! I've not been having luck researching on the net to see where such concentrations of MCM homes are. P.S. This is my first post ...
