Gorgeous! I completely approve and can't wait to see what the inside looks like. I've got my fingers crossed for more of that sensitive redesign the architects used on the facade.

Update: The restaurant is changing its hours and you still have to go and check it out for yourself. The new manager is add=ding a breakfast menu and opening the restaurant's doors at 7am. Plus there's a happy hour keeping the kitchen open through 7pm. Really, you've got to go and see this place for...

It had been about 15 years since my last visit so Nichols' post encouraged me to go back. Here's some pics of what I saw. In a nutshell, the shopping and restaurant/dining aren't worth the trek, but the grocery and beer are wonderful and worth repeating. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3056/266978993...

Actually, yes, I did go. I'm not going to heap praise on the event but the merchandise was incredible. I only had to wait in a 6-hour line to get a hold of a few pieces. Yet while waiting in that long line, the signing artists left for the day and the most-coveted merchandise ran out. In the end, I ...

Jeez! That was quick! I can't believe the sale and auction concluded so fast. Yes the sign must be saved, but what are the options? Leave it in place — what will be built on the site of the lanes? Move it to a new location — but where? Adriene, was there anything left or is it all gone? I'm also...

I hope its twin neon "Coffee Shop" signs went into storage with it. I know the developer said the neon would be reused in the new development, but I always have my suspicions.

How nice that the article mentioned the Museum of Neon Art and their support of the sign. I'm so happy the new owners listened and kept it as it's a crazy-wonderful piece of neon.

I'll definitely stop in and try the new menu.
