I found some pictures of the LV Monorail Bombadier Mk VI cars: http://www.monorails.org/webpix%202/APTA08.jpg "A nice surprise was on display by Bombardier. The first MVI for the Las Vegas Monorail system was trucked all the way from the Bombardier facility in Kingston, Canada. This is no mock up fr...

Monorails

Being a fan of monorails, I thought it'd be nice to have a thread for posting monorails & monorail info that isn't Disney or Las Vegas related.

I found this website posted on a Chicago Music site:

I'm stealing ideas from it for building my own as we speak!

MM, I think they're working 'round the clock 'cause they have to run the monorail 24/7 for 30 days for testing purposes. The longer it takes 'til they're ready to start that testing, the longer it is 'til they can get paying passengers on board.

The uses the airform shell coated with foam but adds rebar & concrete for a cleaner, more permanent (& more successful) solution.

The film's called "Incubus." From the imdb: Kia is a succubus, luring to their final perdition men who already have sinful habits and libertine inclinations. She tires of this, it's too easy, and these souls are going to Hell anyway. She wants to match wits and charm with someone who is good. So, ag...

Do you have your RoShamBo team yet? I don't know if I'll be in town on the 13th (probably not, my wife has to be in LA on the 12th & probably she'll want to stick close to home Saturday), but look for a guy with a handlebar moustache, a pony tail down to his waist, & a bright yellow hawaiian shirt.

My favorite cocktail isn't very modern:

Mai Tai!

If a place doesn't do a good Mai Tai, why would you want to drink their other drinks? If a place does do a Mai Tai well, why would you want to drink their other drinks?

As for "modern" drinks: Vodka Martini, very dry, rocks, 2 olives.

I don't see why the climate in Alaska would preclude Modernism, you just need to be a little creative. Didn't you say, M-M, that the original plan had the monorail going to the airport, but taxi and bus groups objected mightily? A similar thing happened in L.A. when the light rail was going to stop at LAX. I'm not surprised, it's the same problem that I've seen in almost every major city I've lived ...

We like to sit right by the exit, in the row 1/2 way to the back. We can still see almost all of the birds, &c., & the sound is pretty good, but we don't have to wait for everyone else to wander out before leaving.
