FADO Globe Replacement

I don't have any FADO hardware to share, but I had some suggestions on how you might find a replacement. An ebay search revealed a 10" table-top version of the FADO. Perhaps the shade on this unit is interchangeable with the hanging version? Progress Lighting (http://www.progresslighting.com) s...

Anyone else collect globes? If so, please share some pictures here. Here are a few of my favorites: http://ajfisherdesign.com/objects/124.jpg Cram's 9-inch Terrestrial Globe. It is undated, but I believe it is made around 1935 (Persia is identified as Iran) to 1937 (Burma is still part of India). No...

ID request - large greenish lounge chair, 1950's?

http://ajfisherdesign.com/objects/unknown_chair.jpg Can anyone suggest a maker for this chair? I think it is a lounge chair. It's another find at the thrift store. I thought it had nice lines, which is what drew my attention initially. No tags though and no idea who made it. Thank you. -AJ

Where to get round placemats?

I bought this one at Bed, Bath & Beyond about 4 or 5 months ago. They had many different colors. We use it underneath a table centerpiece, but I believe they are intended as placemats.

Hi all, I live about a block from this house. It is a 3-bedroom mid century modern ranch listed for $195,000. The yard is very large. I hope a modern design enthusiast purchases the house. http://eugenemodern.org/objects/8014458-1.jpg The above image is the house for sale. The address is 2535 Jackso...

ID request/more information - Broling chair; wood, vinyl

http://eugenemodern.org/objects/chair_broling.jpg Found this chair yesterday at a local thrift store. The tag says "Broling Chair Company". I've located some other Broling Chairs online, but none that are of this form or the same materials. This chair is very sturdy; wood frame and brass ...

This is a nice looking home and built relatively recently as well. I wonder if "Prairie Style" is appropriate to describe this architecture? Certainly reminds me of FLW as you suggested.

It's a neat form. From the description posted on the hyperlinked page, it sounds like there was clock movement? If so, it would be great to see this structure in motion.

mid-mod driveway gate - seeking photos for inspiration

Jakabedy, I see you mentioned looking over the other thread related to mid century modern gates. I work in a metal shop and 95% of my time is spent fabricating gates. Most of the ones we build are already chosen by the customer and most aren't interested in design, rather the function of the gate. A...

if you want to go for something really, really low maintainence, you might consider pulling out the wood and replacing it with new cedar 2x4. it won't rot and the wood might be a nice compliment to the concrete. it will fade/bleach to a grey color over time.

I fabricated this dual-swing gate last year. It is a vehicular gate intended to keep cars from using the driveway as a turn-around. I think the clean lines and simple form could compliment a mid century modern setting.
