Find a cabinet top fabricator in your area. They'll have a chain full of hundreds of samples to choose from.

Preserving Our Mid-Century Heritage

A great blog post by one of Indy's most notable bloggers: Source here: http://theurbanophile.blogspot.com/2009/01/preserving-our-mid-century-heritage.html Cut & pasted version: Preserving Our Mid-Century Heritage We walk around the hollowed out remnants of our old downtowns and wonder, "How...

In San Fran - need tour advice

I'm in San Fran until Saturday. Any must-see neighborhoods and/or shops? I'm staying in the city and plan to hit Eichler's Diamond Heights.

I hop you all have a great New Years.

Sorry to hear about the lack of response. This time of year is tricky. Hopefully they make it right.

Please post photos and details of the install. I'm considering this kit and would love to know how it goes.

Pryne * Co. Inc Blo Fan

I have two original Pryne & Co. Inc. Blo fans. One in the kitchen and one in a bathroom. I'm looking for one more as well as some of the control hardware, parts, etc. Can anyone help point me in a direction? These are really cool - even though mine have been painted over. Once I get the paint of...

I would love to agree with you. I don't. I have never seen an MCM that didn't have a jaw-dropping price tag. I have never seen modernist housing of any kind that wasn't far beyond the reach of most people. MCMs tend to be rare, and are a niche market. They are priced accordingly. I have rarely seen...

I'm glad to see all this MidMod excitement in Indianapolis and am checking on the blog from time to time. And by the way, have any of you seen the new Modern-style Indy airport? It's spectacular. I was drooling all over the lovely terrazzo floors. I have terrazzo in my home, but it needs some TLC. ...

Welcome to the boards. Doors are a topic we've covered but here's a start for you: Shannon Walker: http://shannonwalkerdesign.blogspot.com/ She does custom doors far cheaper than Crestview but they're not pre-hung. Worth talking to her. Speaking of Crestview have you considered the much cheaper DIY ...
