egads- unfortunately i realize that l.a., san diego, and phoenix are local when it comes to mid-mod. the main problem is las vegas didn't have a lot of people here until the '80's. it was a very small place with very few homes. alexforum- i'd like to see the chair irl, but for the right color and th...

that is a bit pricey, but i'd be willing to pay that much for the right color and if i could pick it up locally.

@cougarider- i've been using one estate sale vendor for a while, but either nothing comes up that's any good or i have to work. there are very few decent estate sales here. not many homes in vegas are older than 20 years. @ Slim and Gabby- i realize it takes time, but patience is something i'm not a...

Slim and Gabby, thanks for bring on the look out. that chair is so close to being what we want. we're very specific on what we want in this case. it's a "contour" lounge chair. my uncle had one when i was a kid. they either came with a motor or you could work them manually, but they moved ...

unfortunately, the kitchen, entry, and bathrooms have new tile in them. 12x12 tan. very common.
for the most part though, the house is in very good shape and not too much has been changed.

thanks for all the help and the links. i don't really care all that much about the names. i guess i'm just looking for the style. while i want the house to look nice, i don't want to have to worry about an expensive/unreplaceable sofa getting damaged during a party or by my dog. i assume all this wi...

oh, ok. we need a sofa, full bedroom set, and computer desk. there's nothing really wrong with the sofa we have now. we bought it used a few years ago. it came with a few stains and some very small holes. we'd like a new sofa for the new house and would like to move the old one into the garage/band ...

need suggestions on where to buy furniture.

been looking for a month and haven't really found anything. macys has some nice stuff, but it's pretty pricey. i know ikea has some ok stuff too, but am wondering if anyone knows of other places to look either online or in las vegas. i've been in almost every thrift store, vintage store, and consign...

egads: there's wood under the carpet for sure. i can hear it. i don't think it's just plywood, thought. from the bar (1st floor) the ceiling is made of a heavy lumber. oak? it's also the same ceiling in the outside storage on the ground floor. i'd like to put up some photos of the new house on flick...

flooring suggestions?

we're thinking about ripping the carpet out of our 1962 p&k. it's a tri-level with only about 400 sq feet on the concrete slab. i assume, because of the squeaking that the rest of the house has wood flooring under the carpet. any suggestions on what to put in?
