shucks... I missed it again.

Why did you like it so much this year?

I was working the L.A. garden show all weekend and ended up with heat stroke, food poisioning, or what I thought was the swine flu, but I am better now.

SOLD! - after seeing it on Lotta Living MCM real estate

Anyone ever sold or bought a house because they saw it here - on Lotta Living MCM real estate? I was curious. I think it is fun to shop on-line, but does anyone buy what they saw or know someone who bought a home after seeing it on-line? I am sure you would go and visit what you want to buy after se...

Now the doom and gloom has hit all of us in our real life jobs, has it hit the preservation world? Just curious.

Cruisin' on the boat

I will miss that Delta Queen. It was better than an 20,000 passenger cruise ship anyday. At least if it went down, I wouldn't be too far from shore! Whereas, in the middle of a cold ocean, I would not feel too safe. They could always turn it into a gambling boat dry docked in Louisiana. Few years ag...

The long lost Millard Sheets files

Last night I had the honor to sit at the Rancho Santa Ana Garden with a View dinner table with Rufus Turner A.I.A. He worked for Millard Sheets, and worked with famous folks, like, 'Dewey', Euguene Harnish, as well as Morgan and Causey who eventually formed the know nationally known, HMC. It was a f...

Glendora Bougainvillea Update

Last year the National Register of historic places, Glendora Bougainvillea, on Bennett and Minnesota in Glendora was granted the Hero of Horticulture recognition by the cultural landscape foundation (tclf.org). After traveling and this that and the other, I was able to attend last night a meeting of...

I am happy with this project.

Been working with a L.A. landscape architect assigned to this project to make sure the best of the best is only used. And I am really happy with the directions given so far.

landscape architect collections

I got this from my landscape architect network that I am on. Thought we on this board could help out. I have already told them about CALPOLY and UC Berkley (which they already had). Please e-mail Marlene if you know of any landscape architect's collections at any institute that would be accessible. ...

Well.. here it is...

Sorry, Mr. Lynx. I missed it, as I was in San Fran for the ASLA annual conference working my booth and my airplane came in too late. The sign in the daytime looks amazing. Except they call it the APU sign. Eek.

La Tolteca

Mis-information. The sign is going with them. There is a height restriction unless you have an already approved grandfathered sign - which they have. So it will be relocated. Yeah! happy ending!

Disneyland Submarine Finding Nemo ride

Rode it on Saturday. Fabulous underwater video fun. Had an odd feeling as though I was watching a Japanese kung fu movie with the words following after the screams. Quite clever remodel. Seemed like the starfish were just where they were when the ride closed. Spiral staircase was really interesting ...
