Tried your suggestions

Mortarless was the most helpful. But no one had my Spartan Porcelain Ceramic Mosaics - Dresden Type. Porcelain is no longer used in Bath tiles, only on pool tiles.

Solar roof

Please, please... make sure that your roof can hold the weight. I am having my 11 year old unit deactivated, as it was too heavy for my pool house and caused the roof to sag and not allow water to drain properly. That really sucked, the repairs.

Sparkle 60's linoleum has to go... what to put in its place

Termites ate underneath my sparkle linoleum under my toliet, so the linoleum has to go. Any 60's places that I can go to and get another 60's favorite, no asbestos please. Just need a 6' x 6' piece.

TILE CRISIS!

Anyone know where I could find replacement tile for my 1959 banana colored smooth tiled bathroom. Love it, but don't know where to go to find a replacement for the crack tile in there. For insurance purposes, I am going to glue over the top of it to seal it. I am afraid if I take it out, I'll crack ...

1414 S Fair Oaks Avenue - Middle School?

What plan was picked by the school board? A - destruction of the building for the school or the others. I wasn't feeling great yesterday, and went to bed early.

Mid Century Fountains

I can think of 2 mid century water fountains: L.A. Arboretum by Millard Sheets and Arcadia across from Denny's Brother of Monrovia Public Library architect Eugene Fickes. I would love to view others, preferably working. Hard to find as this isn't Barcelona.

Thanks!

Hi! got that magical phone call back from the developer. I want to redirect my clay pipes into the city sewer. Apparently, there is not lateral, and I must dig through the street into a manhole that lies 3 feet away from my back gate. If the developer wants his bucks, he needs to identify if I have ...

Roofing specialists

It appears that my beam was dripping resin not too long ago from when I did have a leaky roof about 5 years ago. Had three mid-Century specialists in roofing who are contractors come out to see if my membrane roof needed repairs, and low and behold I have 6 to 9 goods years on it with no leaks to be...

2004 Modern Predictions

My prediction... is the Foothill drive-in in Azusa gets to stand there for another year. The Hollywood Sign fights the installation of a gift store/tourist trap on the 'd'. The Ambassador is saved. The mosiac in LAX pathway to the baggage claim is relocated to create the longest entrance into a hosp...

Quickie update

Still in court. Lost a wall and plants facing the east side. APU demo'd and removed the trees against the spirit of CEQA. I wonder if the City of Azusa and APU understands - CEEEEE QUAAAA, and it is not an Indian tribe in California.

Thanks for asking.

Bummer

Hummer says that's a bummer. Do you think sending a photo of your art and letter to the developer would help if they are art patrons? Couldn't they just move the building and attach it to the supermarket? That should be part of the deal... public art gets you a nice inviting, unique private space. I...

Clearman's Village going in 2005

In San Gabriel, a 34 yr. landmark the BOAT and Clearman's Village as we all know it on Huntington Dr. will be torn down to make a KOHL's. The Boat might be moved to where Steak and Stein is. At least the boat is still sailing, and orthwood Inn will remain. Shops have until from March to September to...

Glendora - foster rhodes jackson address

the address is Yucca Ridge Road. I don't know the house number, but it is the last home on the street on a steep bank. A very steep bank. It has a really weird shape, and a killer view overlooking the San Gabriel Valley. No real significant amount of stone work only inside the home against the firep...

Good news. The stone home that I think is a Foster Rhodes Jackson home on Val Verde or Mills Rd is still there. I can't recall which as the road looped really in an odd place, and it was standing yesterday at 11am. There weren't any fire police barriers there, and it was really eerie seeing home bur...

Lustron

Any Lustron houses in L.A. The most popular style being the 02 Westchester Deluxe. Lustron houses are pre-fab all steel homes. Great for those who love to collect magnets. Built in the 40's. Read an article in the Dallas Morning News about them. Dated Sept 5, 2003. Seemed very cool place to live.

Lucky me - so far!

Had a really good home inspector check it out. It appears my roof is leaking badly at a joint. That helped. So now I can get it fixed before the rains and more drips. Found lots of problems. Heating/cooling, plumbing, roof, and all needs replacement eventually. Trying to buy it without the headaches.
