Here are a few of my thoughts Santa Anita Racetrack - spooky what they will be doing to it to connect the mall to it. any Modcom type of small theater - sierra madre? Chinatown - that's spooky in the dark police station - if they would let us in or Out? Fire station? No, they would hose us out. hosp...

It's up to the taxpayers...

If the taxpayers approve this bond measure, they will again get the City of Monrovia to maintain the facility, and honestly, for a $12 million dollar structure you need at least 10% of the building cost to maintain it. Seems like they forgot to do the math on this one. We drove by it today, and we s...

Nichols, thx

Appreciate the heads up... Cities are struggling with their libraries, and trying to make them more profitable than nonprofitable. Sitting on the board of the Friends Foundation in Glendora, I have learned a lot.

Garden Style

Do you know your Garden Style? Are you really a modernist at heart? Or deep down, you want to soak in that Italian villa Getty look. Anyways, here's a fun garden style test to take below.

Super8 Film into DVD? Where should I go?

Got any ideas? I took my box of slides to a guy in Glendora who turned it into video really cheaply, but he added Pakistani music in the background, which really annoyed me when I told him no sound. Any help is welcomed. I found 20 cans from the late 60's and early 70s that might be fun to view again.

Landscape & Ukraine

The landscape removal is a difficult disappointment to see occur. Has been impacted by bits and pieces of surrounding encroaching construction. Love that fountain... why? recycled water could be promoted from that installation. Hummmm.... The prime minister of Ukraine's wife went and dropped a bouqu...

Horticulture students for landscape jobs

Cal Poly also has hort. students, but many are studying to become growers rather than designers. Mt. San Antonio College has one of the best programs in the state, and many want to be designers as well as landscapers. I know because I went there and finished that program, and wished one day that Cal ...

Well, we were there on Saturday, all 4 of us. And all quiet. Guess they are saving the thunder for Tuesday. The weird thing was that every dealer worker was there today, too.

Still recovering from sushi contamination... but I can help but admire all the cool Disney stuff on this message link. I really like our Disney Shag map. I spent the bucks on the framing, as they were offering a real deal on the mat and frame. (:

Landmark Gateways to Cities

After seeing an AZUSA city gateway sign made from riverrock fall on RT 66. I thought it might be cool to learn of other cool gateways. The City of Glendora is cool but rather hidden on RT 66 with old school style of civic pride and club logos. Maybe there are others? I think this is coming back in s...

I sent the opinion into the paper. They are printing less and less opinions to the editor than in the past. I'll pick up some flyers at MODCOM tomorrow if Adrian gets back from school in time. The thread is mighty long... papers regarding their work. I am back in L.A. area and going back for the big high school 20th reunion in LA. June is the big event. This time instead of a industrial shed, it has moved up into a rundown plantation that probably still needs more work that anyone could m...

There was a lot of talk and squawk about this building. Perhaps the LAC has more information. I would call the Los Angeles Conservancy, and see if Ken Berstein still has the info about it. Cool place, neglected - clearly, yes.
