Probably drove right past it. Had no idea it was there. Visiting the Gamble house was spur of the momement, we drove to Pasedena, picked an exit and got lucky, only about a mile away from the house, asked someone leaving their bungalow where it was. I was with my 86 year old Aunt, we drove around th...

Gamble House

Stopped by the Gamble house last Sunday on an off the cuff drive by and just missed getting inside with a group that was on a private tour (I was too early for the 1200 opening and couldn't return later) but, WOW...just seeing the outside was thrilling. I've seen plenty of images but once again, the...

LED lighting

Anyone know lighting? I'm re-doing the roof and it will include replacing the floodlights that are mounted over the 4 skylights. I'd like to use LED lights for several reasons: longevity, low heat and, well, longevity. The original lights were speced for 300 watts each. I don't think I need that muc...

Thanks for keeping us in the loop over here at LL. I've been following your progress at WC and must say I'm impressed with what you have done over such a long distance. I have a hard time orchestrating renovation living in the middle of it let alone 2 time zones away. Looks great...are you still goi...

A distinction needs to be made between TPO and engineered PVC type products. They are not the same and do Not have the same track records. Make sure you do your own research.

If your house is 1700 square feet and it looks like a two story then your roof isn't as large as the one I am doing. How many sq ft is your roof? 4k of my roof is in skylights with another 3-4 in re-decking, then there is the custom drip edge, electrical work...so on. It looks like you have lights o...

Colonel...Tar and Gravel will be more expensive than shingles. You will probably have to have the old t&g removed before re-roofing as well. Our re-roof will begin in 4-5 weeks, we are removing two layers of t&g and replacing with a couple layers of polyiso and membrane by IB. Our last house...

I have not been following this thread from the beginning because, quite frankly, I didn't care for the looks of the house shown in the first post. I just read through the whole thread and after having looked at all the links with the other images I have to say I have no problem with the place. It's ...

Still for sale one year later...went through it this weekend and snapped a few images. Land value is around 6-700k so it's not really being sold as a tear down, yet. I took plenty of pics if anyone would like to see more of the inside. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y240/classicform/L1020717.jpg h...

Good ideas. Mr. Carver also gave me verbal permission (when I asked about purchasing rights) to publish the images as long as I gave him credit. It would be nice to have that in writing but I would have felt odd asking. He consulted on my roofing project (asked him a couple of questions regarding in...

None framed. I kind of go back and forth whether to frame them or not. Right now they are just in an archival album. I think it might look a little odd to frame em and hang em. Although I guess I could frame em and not hang em.
