does anyone know if Star Lincoln Mercury on Brand Blvd. is the original dealership for Lincoln, the sinage is not vintage, but the bldg. is a one story brick structure. I took my 1962 Lincoln convertible one night for a spin and took a couple of night photos, can't figure how to post to this site th...

This is a Burton Schutt design. This is also a first offering, so it's very intact and includes some of the original Billy Haines furnishings.

I've seen many a movie there, it's very intact and in good condition, if I'm not mistaken in it's in Barry Levinson's Avalon and John Waters films or two.

the visitors center in Roanoke VA was formally the passenger train terminal for Norfolk and Southern which Loewy re-designed in the late 40's, it has been restored and also features a small Loewy exhibit on his design career. But more importantly is the visitors center houses the O' Winston Link pho...

The looting shot, looks to be the rear of the Hollywood Sears, tragically obliterated by a hideous 70's stucco facade. It's abandoned now. There is was a beautiful Sears in Chevy Chase MD or within the city limits of NW DC, It was an MCM design, with an incredible auto ramp designed into it's facade...

Nichol's you write it I'll design it, I can't recall Marvin's reason for not putting together a monograph, likely never getting around to it, I'd hope his children would want this as a legacy to the Pop.

I like this even better then my 1962 Lincoln Continental convertible, the land yacht version in this instance. I've never personally observed a Chris Craft of this vintage in person, quite a find and it appears to be cherry, I say buy it and take your meals on board.

Very boss, glad to see your not timid with color, hiding the fridge was a good decision, the tubular sconce with the mesh shade reminds me of the Capitol Records tower in Hollywood, which hang from metal arms protruding from the solid portion of facade, I happen to own a few extras :-)

Quite beautiful, were the fireplaces hidden behind false walls? Hard to imagine the equally stunning Robinson's - Beverly Hills is just languishing idle and uncared for, waiting for the wrecking ball.

I'd be especially interested in Lincoln Continental dealerships of the 50-60's, Julius Shulman photographed the Killingsworth designed Duffield dealership in Long Beach in 1963, the image was prominently featured on the Getty's street light banners for there tiny exhibit a few years back. I doubt th...

I wish I had a clue that Marvin had photographed the Capitol Tower when I was with the label, it never came up in conversation, there were a hand full of uncredited original photos in the archives, that and a 1956 edition of the Architectural Digest was all we had to go on. Hopefully in the near fut...
