we still have some moldings to do and we have yet to even tackle the moving of the lighting on the ceiling and scraping the ceiling. I know its backwards but we won't get to that until the first of the year... http://fisherfamilyranch.googlepages.com/ktichendone004.jpg/ktichendone004-large;brt:52;ef...

we lived with a lot of wood in our last house (wood walls and floors) and after getting over the initial not liking of so much wood, i learned to use reds and color to brighten things up. I don't think using things that are white or light is always the solution with wood as it can sometimes only emp...

The Modern era saw the greatest involvement of architects designing homes for the average family. Also keep in mind, we're ta...

I am speaking for those of us in non-eichler, no name brand ranches. I like my house because it is modest. I like it because when people come over they always say what a comfortable and useable house it is. I like that from the outside it looks small, but when you get in it you realize how far 2000 ...

on this topic's note: has anyone ever had insulation blown in after the fact? i've heard of where someone comes out and drills holes in the side of your house and blows new insulation in, and through your ceiling. We are considering this as right now our house has no insulation really. Anyone done t...

Go with what you like, for sure. Don't buy anything because someone told you to. But... educate yourself about art if you plan to spend some good money on the paintings. If you live near LA or SF hit some of the universities. I highly recommend going to some graduate student shows. ( i would emphasi...

These paintings are too decorative for me. The last one is the best of the lot imo but they are stand-ins for real art. Kind of like department store art. I have my Master of Fine Arts degree in painting and drawing so i feel like i can give a good opinion here. Are these printed on to canvas or are...

i agree with Perks. it is the sizes of these homes that is so objectionable to me. I have a few friends who live in new construction and they are not the least bit handy (at all) (not at all, believe me you don't want these two owning an older home...) so it is a good option for them. Their home is ...

will the wood blinds be wood colored or white like the pic.?
with what you have and your wall color i would like to see wood blinds, not white. It jumps out too much.
or maybe a jute shade?
also what about one long one on that long skinny window. Do they make a wide enough one?

Call me crazy but i've been with US Bank for about 15 years and aside from a few bumps along the way have always thought it was a fine bank. There is hardly ever a wait on their phone service and their online banking is EASY. As far as i know not too much nickel and diming.
