The current owner owns two adjacent properties.
Both are also for sale.

One is Steve McQueen's house, designed by Hugh Kaptur.

I had a chance a few years ago to visit both the McQueen House and the Elrod house.

The McQueen house is quite a time-capsule. The owner originally planned to update the house and, then, upon owning the property for a while, decided to leave it as is. (Yeah!)

The house was open to tours this weekend - today was sold out as is tomorrow, but the more expensive lunch tour is still available for Sunday.

There are much better photos than I took on the site link above, so I won't post mine here ... except this one:

a very common mailbox on the street. Who would have thunk it? (And that's the Steve McQueen house peeking above the Elrod house roof.)

Even I have a better mailbox than that, it's secure, it's too hard to steal from mine, but as a slight plus the Elrod house is most likely on a gated street.

There's a small guard house out front, but presently no gate. The Elrod house is the first house on Southridge drive, but I assume that's a guard house for the whole street. (Bambi and Thumper were probably laid off when it got built.)

They are constructing something new there, though. The street is not very wide, so it's hard to see how a two-sided automatic gate would fit there.

You still get snail mail worth stealing, modfan?
